Staff in Line Units?

Hi, I've been pretty diligent about keeping my HQs chock full of staff weenies, but do I also need to add staff to my line units? Have not been doing so, but not sure if this creates adverse effects?

You dont need to add staff units to your front line units. Staff should only be placed in HQ's

In a pinch staff fight as light Infantry. If they are out of troops they probably pad units with Staff. Doesn't mean it is a good or cost effective method of doing things.

In very bad situations i did that myself already !
For defending hexes i knew the enemy would try a invasion next turn for example
or similar cases.
But mostly i transfer the staff back when i have regular troops available for that unit.

Only if you want a staff "reserve" , the staff reserve could also serve as HQ defence - I keep a few staff in Supreme HQ and use them as staff reserve for tactical HQ's as well as some nominal defence strength for the HQ.
