overview map not working

In another thread I mentioned that in one game I was playing, the overview map in the bottom right corner stopped working. It won't show any of the various kinds of territories held no matter how I check or uncheck the selections. Saved files of other games work correctly.

Now I find that when I start a new game, also, the map doesn't work. Old savefiles that worked before still work, though. Anyone else run into this, or know how to fix it?

Try right-clicking on the map and setting your view options. These settings should get saved in you current game.

Yes, I tried right-clicking. I make the checkmarks go on and off, but it has no effect on the map. In the saved games where the map works, I can turn the views on and off, and they will save and reopen and work correctly, but the saved games in which it isn't working, and in new games, I can only have a blank map.

Obviously, it wasn't like this when I first installed the game, or I wouldn't have those saved games in which it works. I guess I'll try reinstalling? Just wondered if anyone else had seen this.

Update: I reinstalled, and while the map in the savefile that originally went bad still doesn't work, it will work in a new game now. Weird.

Got this one figured out. If you double-click on the map, it goes to a blank state which can't be changed by right-clicks. Any new games then started will be the same way. But it can be changed back by double-clicking it again....

Woops! I forgot about the dbl-click! You are correct! My fault for not mentioning that!
