It was stated that subs should not be combined into groups. I just wanted to point out this scenarios is infested with subs combined into groups.
2021 - Resigned in writing as a 20+ year Matrix Beta and never looked back ...

MarkShot, the original GIUK scenarios are the better part of twenty years old.

Okay. The use of groups of submarines by the original scenario designers (long gone from the Harpoon scene) is well known. In some cases, it doesn't work too bad, ie. small groups with a relatively small radius. In larger sized groups, you get the problem of the submarines at the edges of the formation trying to conduct 'sprint and drift' patrols in their own assigned sectors while also trying to transit along with the group as a whole.

I don't think that subs in groups hurts anything unless the patrol zones are changed. If you leave them alone and set them on a course they all seem to behave (none zipping along cavitating like mad). From what I see it's only when you change their formation that you get them chugging along at high speed.
