Nuke missiles

Post by Owl »

Just got my a$$ handed to me in "the last day" (designer series III). Anyway I won't to into the emberassing details. My point is - during my last seconds of life I noted that somehow my radar was able to tell the nuke missiles coming my way from the non-nuclear (or is it nukyaler?) ones. Shouldn't this be impossible? Maybe something to fix in a patch? Just wondering...

You didn't notice that the nuclear armed missiles had a peculiar glow ? [:'(] Seriously, though, I assume you're referring to the 'N' designator ? This is a database issue, done for ease of DB organization more than anything else. Changing it in the non-editable HDS III database might be a bit of a chore in any event.

It wasn't necessarily a bad thing. My ol' heart was beating fast as my Tomcats which were all out of position were afterburning their way in. The missles came from directly opposite the threat axis I was expecting! I had the enemy down to only one CV group left - most of them devoid of sensors due to HARM's. My alpha strike had just left the deck and was about 20 miles out when the shipwrecks came in and nuked my Iowa, my CV and the escorting CG which was evidently too close! I lost the game though the Soviet victory was fleeting. I sank their entire fleet. Never did find the Oscar that sank my CV though [:@]
