CD covers

Post by Error in 0 »

For those of us who buy the digital download version of games, it would be nice to have a premade, official CD-cover to use when we burn it to disk. Im going to buy the "Advanced Tactics.." game, and it would be helpful. Perhaps an idea for Matrix?

Jalla

It's been mentioned before and the answer was no. It isn't that they distrust any one person, simply that there are unscrupulous sorts who could use an official CD label/DVD case cover to pirate and sell the game on.

I don't work for Matrix, I'm simply telling you what I've read in the past. If they have changed their mind about such things, I am unaware of it.

Pirates would abuse the hell out of that feature if Matrixgames implemented it.
WE/I WANT 1:1 or something even 1:2 death animations in the KOIOS PANZER COMMAND SERIES don't forget Erik! ;) and Floating Paratroopers We grew up with Minor, Marginal and Decisive victories why rock the boat with Marginal, Decisive and Legendary?

Well, it cannot be that hard to make a cover identical to the official cover. I presume anyone wanting to make some money on piracy can affort Photoshop (or rather a pirated version) to make the cover. I seriously doubt that releasing the cover would create a problem. And after all, its only "grognards" who play Matrix games...:), and they are honest, highly intelligent and upstanding citizens! (and few)

If anyone has made a CD cover for this particular game, no resemblance with the official one is required, I would be interested seing it.

One of the things that I hat about CD covers (music CDs) is that they are not as nice to enjoy looking at as the old vinyl record covers....yeah i know call me an old fart, but you have to admitt that there is some truth to it.  Has litte to do with the subject, but what the heck.

I feel the same way and am also an old fart! [:D]

CD's just aren't collectible in the same way. Billion Dollar Babies, gatefold with the dollar bill inside. There's nothing to compare on CD. Sometimes the music was incidental to the album itself, it was great to touch, look at and keep. The four Kiss solo albums, complete with interlocking posters (I have Gene Simmons album somewhere) were fantastic. Alive II (their best live album) had some amazing photos inside the gatefold cover. You don't get any of that with a CD. I don't get the same buzz out of sticking a CD in the drive as I used to, gently placing a 12" vinyl record on the turntable. Sigh.

Jim

I still have an old Sound Design Realistic 8 track tape player, turn table, dual cassette player, dual speakers (about 3ft tall) FM/AM stereo. Dam nephew broke a pencil off inside where the headphones would go. lol Got it back in 76 or 77 when I was in airforce at Ft. Walton Beach Fla. ;)
