the status info window

Post by Cunctator »

One of the most annoying issue of this game is related to the end of the diplomacy phase.

In my opinion we would need a pop up window summarizing the most important events occured during the diplo phase.

Declarations of war (not only concerning your nation), peaces (including conditions), trade interruptions with GB, new alliances and their breaking, just to name some of relevant events to be underlined to the player.

In the present version you have to scroll down and up trying to find if Gb continues to trade with you or not, or if Austria denied your request of alliance....

As an option it would be welcome to be able to change the level of details of the info box, for example selecting only the arguments you think to be vital or useful, omitting the others.

After land phase it would be great to be warned if one of our corps failed its forage roll.

Another issue is to understand at first glance which free state is interested by the arrival of new reinforcements, but probably i'm going off topic....

Waiting for other points of view

These all sound like good ideas and I think we'll look at some type of news report at the end of the diplomacy phase. We have all of the information but you have to sift through it all to find what pertains to you.

BTW: I am putting a warning sign when you try to advance past the Eco phase with factors coming up in the next few months BUT you have not purchased a corps for them.
Thank you

Wonderful idea!

You could also, if possible, change the rules allowing a player to purchase the needed corp counter at the beginning of the reinforcement phase.

That was a house rule always adopetd by my group when we played Eia boardgame.

No more cavalry or artillery transformed into infantry!

Is there a window to tell you if you haven't purchased troops yet for a FS under your control during the econ phase? or a summary of your current builds during a econ phase, other than having to click on each country to see if you bought for them?
Also; occasionally, I get the current supply cost in the message box, is there a key or do I have to put my cursor over a particular spot to get the current supply cost?

When you select a freestate, you should see an info panel popup that has a reinforcements list. You can scroll through the months to see what factors are coming when.

The supply cost should popup in the text message window (lower left) every time you right click.

I get the freestate info panel, just was wondering if there wasn't a list of freestates and whether they built that economic turn- sort of like the unit list tab- when I have 10 or more freestates, I tend to overlook 1 sometimes-probably my alzheimers kicks in.
Thnx on the supply cost popup window, was wondering why it only appeared sporadically.

its why i think, we should get the boardgame version of the turnsheet for the game, because it would tell you what you will be getting over 12 months, but could hold info for 6 free states as well, but this info have been spread out sadly and i dont get why, also i would like the corps turn sheet as well, because it in the boardgame would tell you, how many troops you could have in each and there was room for your figures, to keep track of these, but also in this game, that info is harder to get and while fog of war, should not give you info on how many troops the enemy got, i would like to have their turn unit sheet, so i could see what kind of setup they got, without having to play them or design some new turn sheets, just to play this game :)

but this is stuff, i hope they will get time for, once the bugs are more or less sorted out, so at least i can get the old boardgame feel for the game :)
