From the Joint Briefing of the Army and Navy Staff at Yokohama Military Base Honshu:
Dec 9th 1941 0830
Gentlemen if you would be seated there is a great deal to get through and only so many hours in the day. Little over a day ago the forces of Imperial Japan launched the most expansive operation in history. The area of the operation in border on the Malaya Peninsula in the west, all the way to the Hawaiian Islands in the east. There is a great deal that, has unfolded since that time.
Kota Bharu was invaded by the 56th and 18th Divisions. While the bulk of the 25th Army landed at Singora in Thailand. Resistance to our landings has been moderate, it is believed that only a Brigade is holding the line.
Landings at Legaspi in the Philipines were interrupted bu the Heavy Cruiser Houston, she was beaten off by the Mizuho and the landing fleet. Mizuho sustained moderate damage as did Houston.

Anti-submarine operations off Kota Bharu damaged and drove off a British or Dutch submarine. Note their Captain was willing to bring his boat into shallow water to effect a strike.
After a heavy bombardment by four of our heavy cruisers and three of our light, a Special Naval Landing Force was able to capture the island of Wake.
Our submarines however were able to damage the enemy. I-155 put a torpedo into a British Minelayer, I-154 did the same to the Tanker Augustina.
Port strikes where made at both Hong Kong and Manila with light damage to facilities and numerous ships damaged. No confirmed sinks are reported at this time.
Carrier Divisions 3 and 4 sailed down into the strait between Borneo and the Celebes. She attacked shipping at Balikpapan. She will continue on in a hunt for the BB PoW.
Paratroop operations were carried out against the port of Sorong in Northwestern New Guinea, and the village of Gasmata on New Britain. Both operations were a success with the added bonus of the sinking of a Floatplane tender with all her aircraft.
In the first two days of the war it is estimated that some 400 aircraft of all types have been destroyed on the ground and a further 100 in the air from all actions. We have lost 4 aircraft in air to air combat since the outbreak of hostilities. Our flak loses are barely 100.
That concludes our briefing for today.

1EyedJacks: In CVO there are three para units. One stationed at Kwajalein which I moved to Palau. One stationed at Truk which will para into Gasmata on Dec 8th. The Raiders are on Haunan Island China and are useless until you move planes with range to them. You could use them to para into China if you wanted to. I don't know if you get a convertion of Yamato in CVO. If you do I will not be doing so. I have found allied player to be sloppy in their play as the war progresses. Battleships can cause a great deal of havok when employed properly. I have read that Japanese CL's are nothing but big DD's, and while this is true, a bigger Japanese DD is just how I use them. In CVO you must increase your military shipyards if you expect to use any of the late war carriers. There are a lot of them. I have already gathered all the CVL and CVE's into the KKB(Kiddy Kido Bhutai). As the first turn has already been done I can tell you they have already been a stelar success. CVO has no respawning so we will not be seeing the Marblehead or Boise ever again.[:D][:D][:D][:D]

Note to ny59giants: I know she is your favourite ship but as a Japanese player she just is a pain in the ass. I am glad to be rid of her.[8D]

Thanks - I found the other two para units @ Kwajalein and Truk - happy-happy. I've decided that DBs against bases really sucks with the AAA. Every time I hit the Air Base at Pearl with KB I lose 30+ Val to Flak. That really hurts my feelings... [8|]

Hi okami,

When you are in WiTP and have a shot you want to capture you should just have to hit the PrtScrn key and SnagIt will capture it.

In the properties of SnagIt I set under Input and then selecting Scrolling, I set scrolling to Scroll Active Window. I select the area I want to capture and then Crop to fit. Text boxes, arrows to areas I want to highlight, and when I'm done I save it as a .jpg file.

I also use photobucket to "host" my pictures on the web. Then, in the message window when I'm posting in WiTP, I paste the location of the photo and use the image button so the editor knows where to grab the file I've uploaded - it's pretty cool. You can add multiple pictures to the same post using this method.

The Office of Colonol Nagatsuyu:

Nagatsuyu: Come in Captain and close the door behind you.
Kamei: Captain Kamei reporting as ordered sir.
N: I trust you are well rested Captain?
K: Beg your pardon sir?
N: I said I trust you are well rested! I don't know how they do things in the navy, Captain but it has been my experience that in operations using bombers over an enemy base that said bombers would be escorted. Can you explain to me how five missions over Hong Kong where made with no fighter escort? And please enlighten me as how why you say fit to only fly the last mission and with EVERY FIGHTER PLANE ON THIS ISLAND? i HAVE REPORTS WE LOST SIXTEEN BOMBERS OF ALL TYPES. Yet I have some 250 fighters at my disposal. The numbers do not add up Captain. I am standing down all squadrons tomorrow, you may wish to consider a different occupation. And yes I heard it was the AVG, they are not Ghosts Captain. There are not Oni to scare little children with. The reports say that your men shotdown fifteen of them. That is why you are still here and not on your way to explain this to my superiors. Dismissed Captain.

From the Personal Journal of Admiral Yamamoto Isoroku:

It is not as bad as bad as we had feared. Yet it is no where near as good as we had hoped. Sixty-three planes lost and no Battleships sunk. Torpedoes, they decided on torpedoes. Brave fools. There is no choice now, a desparate gamble now calls for a raise in the stakes. I have ordered Zuikaku and Shokaku to split from the fleet and head for the US west coast. Find and engage the enemy carriers. They are the least experienced and thus the most expendable. I wonder if the American commande will call or does he has a raise of his own? Sixty-three pilots for nothing. Nagumo was not the right man for the job. Sixty-three.
