Recommended Settings?

What would be recommended settings for scenario 15 WITP?

I prefer "no sub doctrine" when playing Japanese because they were disadvantaged in the real war when not targetting merchant fleet.

Against the AI sub doctrine off might be preferable for IJ. But in PBEM any competent Allied player will have effective escorts for all merchies, and your subs will die going after them. Better that they should die going after combatant ships instead.

Funny, Ive always played with IJN sub doctrine turned on.
 
Until yesterday when I turned it off, 9/12/41, 3 torps into Tennessee!!

Years ago there was a game called "war in the South Pacific". I sail this big American CV out of the port with lots of DD and CL and even 2 CA, and two other fleets. The guy I was playing put 2 torps into the CV....some days you eat the bear and some days the bear eats you LOL
