Original Horse and Musket player made scenarios

The Seven Years’ War was fought across the globe and called by some the first “World War” as virtually every major power participated. In the center of events was Prussia, almost constantly at war and lead by the now legendary Frederick the Great.

Relive the exciting and trying days of Frederick the Great in Horse and Musket: Volume I, the improved and expanded combination of the previous Prussian War Machine and Prussia’s Glory titles. Horse and Musket: Volume I is a reboot of the successful Horse and Musket series, including not only two solid historical titles in one package, but also many new game features, a powerful new editor, and a complete graphics overhaul to an already acclaimed gaming system.

Original Horse and Musket player made scenarios

Post by sullafelix »

Does anyone know of a website that carries any scenarios other than came with the game? shrapnels forums on the game have gone away after the sale to matrix. I'm looking mostly for anything other than Frederick scenarios. Thanks.

Thank you very much. I had a hankering for earlier battles than Frederick. I'm reading a biography of Turenne. Not that much for that era, but Marlborough will do.

Ok I found the old Dragoon scenarios. Only problem is I can't get them to load in HM. They have a .DRG extension and the HM ones have a .HNM. I tried changing one to a .HNM but the scenario wouldn't load and was all messed up. I looked through the site in the above post and I can't find anything about swapping the scenarios. I also looked in the Wargamers scenarios and all of Dragoons are gone or were never there, and there are no dragoon scenarios in the HM depot. Thanks for the help. I know I have HM2 Dragoon with somwof the scenarios I just wanted them all in one game.

Are there any HnM forums or opponents-wanted sites for the old games (while we wait). I just bought Prussia's War machine and Prussian Glory and would like to get into PBEM gaming once I have the hang of them.

Zaraath you could try with the old ladder, there were only a few fights fought there, though you can email the folks who joined and see if they still play the games. Once the new updated HnM3 is out I definitely think we will have a ladder here :)

I will start up PBEM's when this is out.

FYI, someone on 3b@y had multiple copies of Prussian War Machine for sale at a reasonable price. I paid most dearly for Prussia's Glory however.

Just got my hands on a copy of PWM. Unfortunately, I can't reach the link that magnus posted. Is there some other way to reach those scenarios?

There were only two Dragoon scenarios that I saw, Rivoli (1797) and Verges from the War of the League of Augsburg. The rest were mods which I haven'ted DLed yet.

I'm talking about the link at Shrapnel Games.

Also, I can't open the .drg files either. I have PWM and when I select "new battle" it goes to a scenario selection screen where you can't choose what kind of file you open. I couldn't open the scenario in the editor either, because the only file choices it gives me to open are .hm2 files. Is there another way to start a new scenario where I get a pop up menu?

For all the fans of good old HnM:

I have uploaded a sample of all the old scenarios I have conserved on my harddrive, you can download them (and all the graphic files you need) here

http://www.trenck-dragoner.de/Ladder/_sgg/m2_1.htm

Remark:
you will need "7z" (zipping program) to unpack them

Hope you have fun with this old scenarios!

Hope "new" Dragoon will come soon!

Best,
Trenck
