Well, if I knew why Kaga and Tosa hid behind my transports I would be more comfortable. [&:]

Oh yes, mod update for BigBadWolf and others who may read this: Darken had an RHS PWHex file instead of CHS. We should all be on the same track now. I think this should take care of the stationary TF problem and also the uber-Chinese Guerillas who move a whole countryside hex in one turn.

When we run turn 1 over we'll see if we get better results this time.

In the meantime, one more new ship--well actually two--which are featured exclusively in the mod (RHS may have these too, not sure): Thai coastal defense ships Thonburi and Sri Ayuthiya...

Image

These two ships are classified as PGs and start the war docked at Bangkok. Historically, both were sunk at the battle of Koh Chang but later both were raised and repaired. To represent the potential of salvaging these hulks, both ships have been given extensive system damage (no float damage, however). Should the Japanese player wish to salvage these ships, he will probably need to take them to a repair port and wait a long while.

OK, the Japanese and Allies have all agreed to a restart. Hopefully we will now have the Royal Thai Army forces showing up in Bangkok on or around the date of 12/22/41 instead of Tokyo. Apparently the Japanese in the last game were sending the Thai troops to "re-education" camps in Tokyo before allowing them to go fight the British.

Same game settings and house rules in effect. [8D]

Very cool. I look 4ward to reading this AAR.

Thanks 1EyedJacks! We have the first turn complete and Allies are waiting for IJ to get a replay back to us. (Would really like to see what happens at PH this time).

Right now we are also in discussion about Political Points. Because all reinforcements in the game start out asigned to home defense commands and will need to be transfered in order to move, I originally gave 5000 PPs to start off with and 1000 per turn. It's potentially looking like 1000 per turn may be too many. [:o]

Gary,

I am starting a game using your Mod!  My opponent wants to know which air model your Mod runs on?  Is it Nik Mod, Standard, CHS?  I don't know.

Thanks,
John

Sounds great!!!!! Thanks... but HOLD UP! There has been a significant correction to it and I haven't put it up publicly yet. I'll give you the Beta site if you want though. To download the latest version its:

http://www.geocities.com/garychildress4 ... d_Beta.zip

EDIT: The Readme.txt file included with the download should say "Version 2.12" at the top. The corrections are listed just below it. The most important one is that the Thai army will now arrive in Bangkok where it is supposed to.

EDIT: Sorry, to answer your question it is based upon CHS 156.

Gary,

I just PM'd you.  I recommend lowering the Political Points down to at least 500 points--perhaps--250 would be even better.  At 500 PP/Day, I can pull a full strength Japanese Division every 7 days from China or Manchuria.  Every 14 days might be more realistic...

My .02.

PH this time was a very stark contrast to the first one. One or both of them must be flukes. I left everything to do with PH and KB untouched in the few changes/corrections made so far. the variation has to be something to do with the game engine. Looking at the ship sunk list not a single one is from PH. [&:]

However, I've had several games in the past where PH has been a major dissappointment. I think in our game where Scott1964 and I were playing Nomad and dpstafford, IIRC all Scott and I sank at PH was a PT Boat!

It is a problem with the game engine. I have always felt that GG games have too much all or nothing in them. It just seems that results can vary too widely. But, this is the game we have, so bonzai!

Other than that, things are looking pretty grim.

Ken a/k/a Nomad is making mincemeat of my ships in DEI. I haven't gotten the latest turn yet but here's the ships sunk list from the previous one. Allied ships are on top and then Japanese ships sunk on the bottom. [:D]

Image

Fortunately for Allies I included a single squadron of Nuclear armed B-2 bombers, with a squadron of F-15s as escorts in the OOB, due to arrive in Aden in 3 days. Should tip the balance in Allied favor! [:D]

A few notes this morning. Just to be clear, Darren is commanding the PI invasion - I am commanding the Borneo operation.

Four days of war and this is a situation map around Borneo.
Tarakan should fall this turn or next turn.
edit = better picture

While Gary thinks about what he is going to write and we wait for Miller41 to quit working, I'll put in another picture. I did a recon over Kuantan last turn - empty.
