Europe Ablaze

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Europe Ablaze

Post by Jorm »

Any one recall this gem of a game.

ive posted here as any oen who is interested in Eagle Day would probably have some interest in it.

I just loged a post on the SSG page supporting a remake of it.

It would be great to see if there are the numbers to make such a remake worth SSG's while.

So i guess for any one whos keen on it , log over to the SSG web page
www.ssg.com.au and log your interest/support in th Run5 discussion forum.

hurrah !!!

I could never get into it either - which brassed me off as I was/am stil a great fan of het original battlefront series and many other old SSG games...but this one just didn't work for me & I was really, really looking forward to it after playing Fighter command and USAAF a lot :(

Europe Ablaze and Fighter Command were IMHO two of the best simulations available, even on the old clunky Apple IIe (now I'm showing my age) they weren't bogged down in all the detail but dealt with the scenarios faced by the various Second War Airforces rather nicely in a sometimes abstract way but one that was nevertheless extremely pleasing to play (and we were easily pleased in those days) but gave a real flavour to replicate the period and the challenges faced by the participants.  I would love for those games to be available again.
