Joe 98,
Why wait all that time to play COTA? The game plays like it doesn't need a patch in my humble opinion. The UI is far user friendly than HTTR aswell. I just can't go back to HTTR since playing COTA. Roll on BftB!

Hi all,
I'm back on deck after an eventful break - well I don't regard moving house/office, getting concussed and hurting my back as a rest. I have gone through the list of bug reports generated over the last month - mostly minor stuff. I've made changes to fix these and posted a new beta build a few minutes ago. The auto testers have been kicked off and will run 24/7. Hopefully, we're getting to the end of these fixes.

Sounds like it is time for the red beer and steak. Use V-8 (or vegetable juice) rather than tomato juice-much better for some reason.

OK the latest build is looking good with the many autotesters we and our beta testers have running. I'm just waiting on some feedback from manual testers re a fix to the UI ( User Interface ) and a new Estab file from Richard that cleans out some vehicles from a few "foot" estabs. If we get thumbs up on these then I'll ask Matrix to do a new installer. We will then test this and once it's a goer Matrix will release it.

Richard should give those vehicles to the Italian MC Bers companies that have no motorcycles (though they say "wheeled" in estab data). The MC Bersaglieris move and behave like they have motorcycles, but have none listed in their equipment, as well as having no fuel. Not a big deal really, but I'm not sure if anybody noticed, so I thought I'd chime in.

Thanks Franklin. For some reason the '42 MC Bers Coy has them but the 1940 version does not. fixed. I also changed the icons from a truck to an MC.
Also fixed the German Gebirgs artillery that was classified as foot but has the kettenrads. I kept the kettenrads and gave them the Halftrack designation and speed.
Also several artillery units were listed as horse but had trucks and vice versa. In these cases I went with what the estabs had and changed the class/speed of the unit.
All the other vehicle weeding is done and I'm testing the new fuel consumption routines on a long scenario with limited supply. You will no longer be able to drive carefree behind enemy lines without a secure supply line because you WILL run out of fuel before too long.

Good news with the fuel consumption. I always kind of figured that basics would most likely be the last thing after fuel & ammo to do a unit in within the time scales used. That is, unless you were talking about harsh environments very short of water.

Good, nay very good! [:)]
I'm aiming to wrap up the patch next week. We're just trying to finalise all the data. There is a pile of revised scenarios, estabs and maps, not to mention some new ones as well. Once this is done - hopefully in the next day or so, I'll do a "release" build and the beta testers will test this. They have been using a "debug" build to date. If that goes well, we then get Matrix to do the installer, test it and sign off. I'm aiming for end of next week to sign off.
