Helsinki is taken by the guards divisions of the red army. I took 3 armies to fight out those devil finns in street to street fighting. Luckily one of the armies was really a tank army disguised as a normal one (7 cavalry divisions, including some mech cavalary with 2 tank units, 150 tanks).

Near Kaunas 3 tank armies destroyed a german panzer korps. Recon showed it strong, so we attacked with all tank armies. I turned out to be only empty korps with a few guns. Henrici must be commanding this area... Puling back before the might of the red army attack.

Statistics lost in the streets of Helsinki.

As they proved to be extremely effective against the german invaders, the high command has deceided to raise 9 new tank armies in the next 3 months. In the meantime the armies will be reformed to have the same minimum number of tanks in them. Come the summer there will be no soviet army without at least a tank battalion of support. We will give the panzers the best welcome we can.

The Front...

We hold Tilsit and our lines run SE following the river too Bialystok.
From Bialystok our lines run South following the river line. At the end of the river, our lines run SW to Lvov.
Our lines are behind the river in Rumania.

The unexpected clear weather has given Germany a chance to launch a quick blitz. Our attack was launched East of Lvov as this is the only place the Pz divisions have reached the front. Recon reports have shown that the Soviets are pulling out of this area and reforming there lines futher East. This was conformed with air recon and the green light is given to catch the Soviets while they reform there lines. 5 Pz divisions stormed the Soviet lines encircling 4 INF korps. 2 Shock Armies escaped the encirclement but they were attacked while moving to new defencive lines. They suffered great losses and put up little resistance. Another 4 Pz divisions joined in the battle to destroy the encircled troops.

The unprepared soviet troops in the southbegun fleeing from the hard german panzer strike. Zhukov unleashed the top secret long range air force on the germans. First fighter bomber attack with heavy fighter support was ordered on the axis airfield near Ploesti. As there was "only" 2 fw and 1 bf fighter units defending, everything was thrown against them. They were easily destroyed and the airfield was bombed with heavy bombers from the rear areas. Our estimates have the germans losing around 80% of their air force there.

The southern forces seeing the thousands of soviet airplane striking back the germans got back their morale. The kv units struck back on the closest german panzer korps destroying more then 100 panzers.

Germany has lost a large number of 2nd rate aircraft last week. Fw's can not cover all fronts yet so there will be gaps Germany's air defences. The destroyed airwings will be rebuilt with Fw's.

Zhukov went out to the front to encourage the simple soliders in the south. The mighty tank armies will be here in a week. "Remember last year at Kiev the enemy run away from our elite troops, they will run again."

Air recon has showed about 3500+ fighters around Lvov, 2000+ in the north and 1000 around Kiev. Germany is unable to clear 3500+ to allow ground support for her attacking Panzers.

Our target this week has been the Soviet long range airforce. It was located near Kiev and bombed it with everything we had.

No ground combat

The losing of the long range fighters were sadly expected. They will be rebuilt with normal fighters. What really hurts is the losing of many fine bombers with them.

German had a litlle hole in the south adjecent to the black sea. We bombed what we already knew is a fake panzer korps full of infantry. Oops it turned out to be a monster panzer korps full of panzers.... Our positions were vulnerable to a monster like that so we pulled back. We sent one more recon to one of the panzer korpses near Lvov. Of course the fw's slaughtered it, but from the low flak numbers we think it was not a real panzer korps. The german's are running from our tank armies! We want to challenge them for a nice little tank battle head on. They can bring their beoved Luftwaffe, we bring a few fighters as well:)

With tank army support now firmly in place behind them our forces begun probing the german lines near Lvov. Both of our tank heavy attacks easily forced the germans back. If our 4400 fighters can keep away the Luftwaffe, we will eat the german infantry alive. If they dare to counter with panzers they will feel the wrath of our elite tank armies with thousands of kv's in them.

The German air defence is fine... a bug in the game has robbed me or a great victory. It has also cost me clear weather turns coz of Pz divisions beening inactive.

We attacked the 2 airfields around Lvov bombing both.

Germany's moral is a bit low as spending many hours working out great attacks only to be spoiled by silly bugs. I have spent alot less time on the last turns and I think I will pay dearly for it.

Our planned attack in the centre had to be called off due to reports of very strong troops just being placed in the rear. Air recon showed very powerful Soviet forces as well. We decided to attack in a different area surrendering 1 INF korps.

3 waves of kv's were sent to provoke a tank battle with the leading german panzer korps in the centre. The orders were to destroy as many german panzers as possible, not to advance. The kv's did fine, and destroyed more then half of the enemy panzers.

The strongest Pz korps is now the weakest after the Soviet armored onslaught. Hilter has ordered that a new heavy tank is to be rushed into production to destroy these monsters.

Our planned attack in the direction of Vilna and Kaunas was blocked by the large Soviet tank armies. Air recon was ordered in the direction of Minsk. A great blitz was launched capturing Minsk. 3 Soviet armies and 1 Shock army have been encircles with all but 1 korps surviving the onslaught.

Our armor losses are way to high and the abality to launch blitz attack is deminishing. The Soviet tank armies comming next week will cause Germany higher armored losses.

Without air cover we are only sitting ducks... We hit back on the panzers in the centre, and 2 panzer korpses fled our tankers. We could nicely kill those panzers if the evil Luftwaffe would take some well deserved rest... We await the next disaster.

We wanted to a tank battle in the south with a panzer korps. They turned out to be infantry, and they run away.

The Strong Soviet Tank armies in the Minsk area were our objective this week. They have been causing our Pz divisions much grief and need to be dealt with. With strong air support we managed to retreat a Tank army and encircled and destroyed another. The INF korps we cut off last week was destroyed also.

We launched a long range attack to cut off the supply to the Minsk area. This attack was stopped by the retreating Tank army. I should of attacked with a much stronger force.
