Mines and Subs

I discovered the hard way that mines can only be replenished at Noumea or Brisbane when I got the bright idea of basing my DMs at Luganville to shorten the run into the slot to deploy them.

What I haven't figured out is how to resupply or restock a submarine with mines. Subs I assign to a newly created SubMine TFs get stocked just fine. After they return to port, simply hitting the "Refuel at Port" button, which works just fine to replenish DM with mines, does nothing.

Also, if a sub has returned from a Patrol mission and I decide to change it's mission to Mining it gets no mines, nor does hitting the "refuel" button load it with mines.

Is the only way to get a sub loaded with mines to create a brand new Mine mission TF? Does this mean that when a sub returns from a mission I need to disband it's present TF and create a new TF with a Mine mission and then assign the sub to it?

You have to return to a home port. Truk, Noumea or Brisbane. Then disband the Mine Laying sub task force and create it again. Then it will be resupplied with more mines.

Thanks for confirming that Ike, it's what I was beginning to suspect.

It would be nice if they could just be reloaded with mines by the Refuel at Port order the way the DMs can.

I think the difference is that DM & DMS usually use mines, therefore it is a "default" order. Subs. usually do other things so it is not and a specific order is therefore req'd
