What??? You have to pass a physical to play WITP? Why is that? Because a PBEM is likely to run several years and you guys want to make sure that both players will live long enough to complete it?

Madness you say? Mwuhahahahaha!

I will see this game through to the end...then replay again to try a different strategy.

Not mad...overly persistant perhaps. [:'(]

Hi miral, I was doing the same thing, since WitP was first released I been coming to this forum off and on. I notice you over on the AT forums a good bit where you see me too. I finally just got WitP a few days ago, got the physical today. Its completely impressive to say the least. Oh yeah, detail like I have never seen, ever. It will certainly take me longer to learn then AT did even though there is alot to learn in AT as well, its just easier than WitP to keep up on what is going on. I think WitP takes a specialy breed that really loves the pacific theater, much like me even though I have never really tried to handle an expert level wargame before, this would be the one I will give a shot. Another pacific wargame I love is pacific storm, thats a good one but many here may not like it too much, its not as detailed as WitP but stands on its own and I personally love it. After I learn how to play WitP, I may not like pacific storm anymore but time will tell.

And I say this affectionately. I don't play WITP (though I have tried, arghhhh) but I like to look at the forum from time to time. I am convinced that you are all the victims of some wierd compulsive behavorial disorder. Not that I am one to talk, having played wargames for 40 years, about every day of that time. But WITP. I did try, I did. Then, in midst of another hour of loading up vast fleets of cargo ships to distribute C-rations to islands spread halfway across the globe, I grasped my sanity, and fled in most cowardly manner, to live to fight another day.

But I like to come to this forum because I am constantly impressed by the people who do play WITP with such dedication. Your great knowledge of WWII, your persistence, your constant searching for the ultimate detailed wargame (or simulation, but lets not get into that one) are all admirable qualities. I am in awe. I believe I could go with a WWII strategic level game that had weekly turns, but no smaller. But those of you who play it day by day!!! Actually, I don't whether I admire you or am afraid of you. Probably both.

But please keep at it; your threads are delicious. This, of course, calls for no reply, but feel free to tell me to go away. Thank you.

If you would ask me why I play this game I could not tell you in any real terms. I did not get back to playing it till I found this forum. The players here have answered the same questions more times than they can count. If you want to play it get the latest patch hang out here and play it. It goes without saying your social life will not exsi9st and your friends will run in terror but hey it ain't a bad way to pass time and use some of them brain cells. I bid you welcome.

You people are all quite mad!

It makes playing PBEM games easier....you don't even have to email the turns.
