An idea id like feedback on.

Post by Fallschirmjager »

Lately ive seen the patrons of this forum trying to find new ideas for scenarios or campaigns.

I have a idea that may or may not sound good to you ppl.

Why doesnt someone make up something completly fictional?

For example

Make up a fake city and come up with buldings, streets and squares to your liking.

For a campaign you can string some battles together to acomplish to take something completly fictional.

You wouldnt have to do a single bit research of course and the possibilties are endless.

Ive seen several "what if" battles that actually could happen while fun these are still limiting.
Id like to see something completly off the wall.

Let me know what you think

Check out some of Warriors efforts - he specializes in fictional battles of very high calibre. Very challenging and interesting.

Some of his works are posted at the Dirty Dozen, Fabs, Arsenal, and probably some others.

I like the idea of a fictional campaign. In fact, I could put together various of my hypothetical scenarios to make one, but had never thought of it.

But it would be best with all new stuff, obviously. I, personally, have never attempted a campaign, but will give it some thought. In the meantime, I hope others will take up the task.
Retreat is NOT an option.

i second redleg's comments on warriors 'what ifs' ! man!

someone has done a fictional campaign centered around an island or something and using really obscure countries only... I've not played it but it looks interesting... there is also the Sealion campaign by Ubertechie I think (I also think that's on La Web del spwaw). I'd certainly like to see more fictional stuff along plausible 'what if...' lines... anyone else know of any other fictional campaigns?

If this game allowed you to create your own nations god that would be awesome.....

Think of the possibilities

Is it possible to make a brand new OOB without overwriting an old one?

Hi guys,

I personaly have switched to doing fictional scenarios. There are
far too many "really good designers" out there doing the re-inact
battles. You can always tell by the posts that surround them.
"Great historicaly correct maps" "dead-on OOB's" ect. ect.

It becomes rather challenging to find a "real" battle that has not
alread been done 12-ways from Sunday! And then there are the
"nitpickers" that love to scream things like, "that version of the
stugIII was not available in 43" and so on. ;)

So for now I do "fictional" battles for all my war games. I have
found that I "really-really" enjoy doing them. And there is less
for the gaming public to gripe about. :D

Plus I belong to the "very small club" of gamers that prefer the
Pacific operations to the East Front. Makes little differance which
war game you choose to play, 70-80% of the battles will be
east front related. So doing Pacific battles is even all the more
satisfing for me.
