FYI - convert some of your PBY Catalina's (range 12) to PB2Y Coronado's (range 15) and place them on the Line Islands to patrol. I know it isn't much, but the 3 extra hexes may come in handy. It's easy to forget to monitor the slow production of the Coronado's. If not them, then use the LB-30's for search as they have a huge range.

Look forward to mid-42 when your B-24's come on line. I have 150 in India and 200 in Australia. They are almost immune to anything through 10/42 the Japanese can throw at you. [:D]

I have already managed to get some LB squadrons to Australia and India... the numbers are not yet as big as you mention but they start to grow... slowly that is...[;)]

Japs after bombarding Kendari from the sea and air finally landed in the place... the second invasion of Makassar has been delayed by our PT boats and today SS Truant sunk one of the enemy transports SE of Makassar scoring for hits on the ship [;)]

We also bombed Amboina today destroying one Mavis on the ground and damaging the AF a bit. Also N of the target a ship has been spotted identified as a Jap CV[&:] moving W towards Celebes.

In the Java region some air traffic took place and we lost one plane with no losses on the Jap side. We also mined Merak. [;)]

More to the North in Malaya Dixie attacked Georgetown and Johore Bahru still without success but the bases won't hold on much longer.

The American Navy and Royal Navy continue to loose ships at an alarming rate.  Japanese forces have sank today another ship near Midway Island, the cruiser was hit by three torpedoes and sank in minutes.  American workmanship is not good...  This brings the total number of ships sunk to over 100 including an aircraft carrier and the battleship Prince of Wales.

Heavy air actions over the island of Java today have resulted in massive losses to Dutch, British and US air forces.  Over 30 airplanes have been shot down today for no loss to the Japanese flyers.


In China, Japanese forces continue their efforts to liberate the Chinese people from the oppressive yolk of Western influence. 

The Malay people are welcoming the troops of Japan as they continue to liberate the local population from the tyranny of British rule.  The Malay people have been welcome with open arms into the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere.

Gents,
the cruiser that we had lost according to Jap propaganda was a mine layer coming back from Midway. So we highly recommend you, do not listen to the enemy.

As for today, we are slowly strenghtening the bases around PH. Troops , supplies, fuel is being shipped towards Palmyra, Johnston, Midway, Christmas Island. We still don't know where the Jap Carriers are but I think Dixie is going to strike soon. I don't have any idea where but I suppose he is going to attack one or more of the mentioned earlier bases and the shipping that takes place in the perimiter.

SW Pacific is quiet. Not much happens over there. Dixie is still fighting at Kavieng but our boys are not allowing him to capture th e base. Even his BBs didn't help his forces.

Now, my all time favourite Java region [:D]


Situation is as we can see on the picture, more supplies should reach the island tommorow and the 13th Australian Brigade should reach the place in the next 2-3 days.

Gents,
the enemy launched a massive air strike aimed at Batavia today... Our pilots were totally outnumbered. The AF was bombed and sustained heavy damage. Moreover a Japanese TF is heading towards Batavia but we are not sure if it is not going to change course and steam towards Merak. We suspect the 4th Japanese Div to be on board of the ships. We tried to attack the enemy from air but all we hit was a PG with 3 bombs and one AK with one bomb. This doesn't look good with the AF damaged and the Aussies still one day from the Island. Hopefuly the enemy will hit some mines in Merak.


To the South near Makassar a Japanese CV TF that we have spotted earlier N of Ceram Island has appeared and sunk PC Gemma. It is currently moving N towards Soerabaja. Subs have been sent from the N to intercept the enemy.



We bombed Amboina today causing some damage to the AF. Japs landed more troops in Kendari, we shall see how long the base lasts.

In the Malaya region another attack of the Japanese 5th Division at Georgetown broke under the fire of our boys. Japs were forced to halt the assault for today.
However the enemy captured the undefended Kuala Lumpur. Japanese 4th Regiment and the 2nd Para Rgt took the place without firing a single bullet.

China front
Japs are bombing our units from the air where they can but we are organizing a small surprise for them near Sinyang and Kweilin.
Our Chinese frinds still fight the enemy in Canton... 2 Chinese Corps still keep the following Jap forces busy:
104th Div
19 bde
2 eng regiments
4 artilery units
That surely slows Dixie down.
In Hong Kong the 38th Div is still bombarding our positions but no attaks have taken plac in the last few days...

Still no sign of the enemy CVs that were last seen near Baker Island. They are gone and our patrol planes can't find them... [:@] I wonder where they are...
Our ASW TF attacked a Jap sub NE of Johnston Island but it seems it is still out there... hopefuly really damaged...

Supply levels are good. I don't recal exact numbers right now but I will provide the whole HK situation in the next update if you like... prons and cons of working on one save file... [;)]

today Japanese forces landed in Merak. It is the spotted earlier 4th Div. Two Jap troop transports hit mines and our castal artillery hit one of the escorting DDs two times. Estimated Japanese loses during the landing are about 1,300 soldiers. I don't think that our Dutch friends can last long in the place...

Our planes didn't hit any Jap ships... apart from one destroyer and a PG which was hit by HMS Trusty earlier that day. Batavia AF is amost like the surace of the moon... Japanese outnumber us in the number of planes almost 4:1!

We have also spotted another TF compromising mainly out of transport ships coming towards Java and some Heavy Cruisers following it... probably a bait for our planes. The whole situation does not look good.

In Celebes Dixie captured Kendari after unloading another wave of soldiers. More to the East at Ceram our LBs couldn't hit the Amboina AF. It seems Dixie transferred more Zeros to the place.

Peace and quiet in other parts of the theatre. Well Dixie's forces marched into undefended Kuantan.

a small update. More and more Jap soldiers unload in Merak. Another Jap ship hit a mine over there. The enemy bombed Merak and Batavia from the sea and later that day a massive air strike closed Batavia AF. Later that day first Aussies landed on the island.

Planes from Shoho lurking near the southern tip of Java attack Soerabaja today... two enemy planes were shot down. We tried to hit the ship from air but without any luck.

In the Central Pacific area Japs landed a small force on Baker capturing the place.

Nothing more of importance happened today.

the enemy now has 40k troops on Java. These are the 4th and 16th Divisions... We are still being pounded from the air when it comes to the AF in Batavia. So far the enemy didn't attack our positions at Merak.

The spotted earlier Shoho moved towards Samarinda and attacked the base. We managed to destroy one enemy aircraft.

In the Malaya nothing much happened. Dixie again attacked Georgetown this time however he had 1:1 odds but still no luck.[:D] Anyways he must be really happy that he had managed to cut Malaya in half. Just as I have suspected from the beginning.

To the North... Rangoon was captured by the enemy... there are two options to consider... Dixie goes Akyab or Dixie goes Mandalay.... I would opt for the second one, don't know why but Mandalay is somehow sending some undefined magnetic field towards allied players who try to defend it.... not this time.

China
Another attempt to kick me out of Canton... no success. Odds 0:1 brave Chinese troops know how to slow down the enemy over here... I don't know however what Dixie's plan is so far... I am blocking him here but when I stop... will he move N? I would do that... One more thing to consider is the lack of enemy activity in the SE part of China... Suspicious...

Nothing much happened in the Pacific area... and OZ is also quiet...

However I don't know if we don't have a sync problem...[:(]

a sad day when it comes to situation of our forces fighting in Malaya and on Java... When it comes to Java, Merak forces were almost overrun by the enemy. Some of our beaten soldiers retreated to Batavia which suprisingly was not hit by enemy planes today.

In Malaya Georgetown fell... but we are not sceptical! Our soldiers showed the enemy that they can put up a decent fight even against overwhelming numbers of Jap soldiers but... Georgetown is Georgetown and Mersing is Mersing... and here the situation doesn't look so good. The enemy almost crushed our poor defence lines with a one single attack. It was a miracle that our boys managed to hold ground.
