Any Idea?

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Any Idea?

Post by histgamer »

Hey I have been casually watching this forum. I am a WITP fan and This game is really cool looking. I was just wondering if there was an estimate of how long till this game is released? Any chance it will be mid summer?

Also on a game play note. Will the game alter history at all? In other words what kind of effect will the air war have? Will it be possible for the allies to advance teh victory date somewhat? Will it be possible for the German air force to delay defeat somewhat?

Will you control production of the German fighters at all? (sorta secondary dont really care one way or the other, the heads of the air force really don't control it so it doesn't matter to me just curious is all)

Not trying to harp. I am the last person who would want a game rushed into production half ready.

That said it just really appeals to my taste

Is there anywhere to get a copy of the original Bombing the Reich? I really want to get playing.

If the effort is put in by the Allied player then you can get the German lines to break early. I believe Sarge managed to break out of Normandy by the end of Jun44 in one of his games.

The Axis player can have total control over his a/c production and R&D.

While reading very old messages, I just had athought...

Is it possible to accomplish the goal of the bomber barons, and win the '43 campaign game before D-Day?
Has anyone done it?

I've been able to get points to the low 60's before the mandatory Overlord shuts down BC & VIII AF.

I won a game in Aug 43, it is the earliest win that I know of (Maj Smithy, told me he finally won his game a few days ahead of my win)

in mine, I broke though the Axis lines in France, in Smithy's I think he got the bombing score

I thought this was an air-warfare game. How can you break through the Axis lines in France?

How come the screen shot shows armourd and infantry units. Do you have any control over these units?

Ground combat is out of your hands. You can bomb the german ground units and if you do enough damage to them, the allied ground offensive will be faster than historically. If you ignore them the allied ground offensive is slower.

by Feb, you can normally start to get on a roll as the Allies, but then, in March, April, Manatory targeting for Overlord starts to kick in, and if it last long enough, it can really let the Germen Industry recover

my two wins in the old game were Jan 3rd 45 and Aug 16th 44, either one would of made alot of people happy, back in the day :)

most of my other games never got finished, as I was doing betas for JC, I used to have a heck of a first day all ready to use, I don't know how many first days I have played over the years (with the old and with the new)
