Using NIR scenarios I get " Problem with your serial # contact Matrix"

Post by sullafelix »

I followed the directions to change the new " Matrix " NIR to Lutzen. Starts up asks me which scenario I want to play and then errors out with " Problem with your serial # contact Matrix ". The original NIR still works fine. Anyone run into this? I don't have a physical copy I just bought the digital download. Thanks.

I don't know what you did to install, but here's what I do and it works fine.

1. In the folder I have installed NiR, I copy the entire NiR folder. So I have "NiR" and "NiR Copy". (For example I have Matrix's NiR in C:\Matrix. So copying, I'll have both Matrix's NiR there and a complete copy... called "NiR Copy")
2. Delete the contents of the BD, FF, SU folders in "NiR Copy"
3. Take the contents of the Lutzen Main zip and copy/replace into the main "NiR Copy" folder
4. Take the contents of the Lutzen scenario subfolder zip and copy that into the "NiR Copy" BD folder (or SU, FF, etc)
5. Rename the "Nir Copy" folder to Lutzen

The trick to not getting the serial number thing is to make sure the copy of NiR is running from the same folder as the Matrix NiR. So, if the Matrix NiR is in C:\Matrix, then your copy of NiR for the add-on is in C:\Matrix

I have set it up with folders in this kind of arrangement

C:\Matrix Games
--Battleground Napoleonic Wars
------Napoleon in Russia
------Austerlitz
------etc, with other NiR add-ons, each from a copy of Napoleon in Russia....

That works for me.
