Transfering factors during Reinforcement phase

Post by Ted1066 »

Hey all,

Has anyone else encountered an issue with transferring cavalry factors between corps during the Reinforcement phase. I was trying to consolidate corps as France, had a few corps in one stack, so decided to merge them down to 2 corps from 4. There was sufficient space in the corps to transfer the factors, but the game would not let me transfer any cav factors. Infantry and Militia seemed to be fine, sort of. Did run into one situation where one of the corps could not move Militia from it, but would accept Militia to it.

I've attached the save game. Check out the stack in LeHavre. Specifically, try transferring cav factors from one corps to another that can hold it. It should reproduce the bug I encountered (though I will say that the couple of times I tried it, the cav bug was consistent, but the militia bug was not).

Are you trying this with the 1.01 patch because I loaded and tested your game and it worked fine for me??? Be careful because some of the corps in thsi area will only take one cav factor.
Thank you

Hey Marshall,

Hmm. Yes, I am using the 1.01 patch and have started a brand new game. Where I noticed the problems seemed to be transferring factors from larger corps to smaller corps (i.e. II or IV corps to X or XI corps). I am aware of the space constraints each corps has and in this case, there was capacity to hold the 1c in the X (maybe XI) corps.

Is there anything else I should try to investigate? I can reproduce this bug without problem on my laptop, so I wonder what might be different between our two systems.

Cheers,

Ted

As a follow-up (and maybe related to), I've seen this with garrisons during the reinforcement phase. Filling a garrison part way, filling another and then going back to the first garrison does not allow you to fill the first garrison to city capacity. Another player posted this bug in the 1.01 patch a little while ago.

Hey Marshall,

Sorry, one more update to this. Could you try this with the save game I sent?

1) transfer all the factors out of the X and XI corps so that the II corps has 16i/4m/3c and the IV corps has 16i/3m/1c.
2) remove the leaders Ney, Davout and Soult and the X and XI corps.
3) then transfer cav from the II corps to the IV corps.

When performing step 3, don't hit OK yet. Click the arrow to transfer 2c from the II to IV corps. This works. Then click the other arrow to transfer the cav factors back, in the same window. When I try this, I can transfer the cav from the II corps to the IV, but I cannot transfer back in the same sequence. If I transfer the cav, hit OK and do a second transfer back it works, but not within the same window. Give me a shout if you need clearer instructions.

Cheers,

Ted
