Anything that comes to mind that you would like to see in future versions of Maximum-Football.

7 man teams

Post by Saedor »

How about an option to have 7 man teams for indoor leagues? The Continental Indoor Football League currently has this (I think they're the ony one). I was thinking of doing a CIFL league (it's a midwestern league and I live in the midwest :)), but I cant replicate it as exactly as I'd like when I'm limited to 8 man teams.

That would be cool, but it is very difficult to maintain a 12,11, and 8 man game types in one game as it is.

There is 9 man football in small towns as well, but I don't believe Maximum Football can be that Maximum - at least not right now.

Okay. I don't know much about coding so I'll take your word for it. But it seems to me that changing the number of players on the field is just changing the number of variables that the program has to keep track of. And since the game can handle as many as 12 players per team, handling 7 (or 9 or 6) should be easy. But like I said, I know very little about such stuff. :)

It would be relatively easy to change the number of players, but any change to the AI, PDS, and other areas would need to changed and checked for this.  The displayed graphics and inputs would have to be changed to add that as a variable.  I am not saying it cannot be done, but some simple things on paper don't always end up simple to program and test.

I'm not a programmer, so perhaps I am overstating this.

I do appreciate your posts, and I am sure that David will consider this, along with other wish list items, for future versions of Maximum Football.  That isn't to say he will add it, but he does try to look at items that the community wants.

The Maritime Football League plays Canadian Rules except 4 downs and 10 men aside.
