Militia Losses and Reinforcement problems.

Post by larrywrose »

I am using the 1.01 Beta and have noticed that Mil are not being taken as losses. After the 2.0 Morale loss Militia are ignored as losses even after all other factors have been removed and more losses should still be applied.

Example France vs Prussia in Round 2 Purssia has 1 Infantry and 12 Militia. With a die roll of 7 Purssia should lose 8 factors. It just losses the 1 Infantry. The 12 Militia are lost in the Cavalry Pursuit.

Also I believe there is a problem with the reinforcement proceedure. I had Napoleon in Lausitz with the Guard Corps. Also in the same territory was Soult with the IV corps wich was beseiging Wittenburg. The Guard Corps was not part of the seige. Davout with several Corps were attacking 2 Prussian Corps in Area 148, east of Berlin and North of Lausitz.

If you resolve the Seige of Wittenburg first Napoleon can be called as a reinforcement into the battle at area 148. If you do the combat in are 148 first then Napoleon can not be called as a reinforcement. I have saved this file if you would like to look at it.

I am very happy to have the game out. Thanks for all of the hard work.

Sounds like a bug, I dont think a force should be able to reinforce if it has hád a battle same phase. Like a besiege as you had with Nap.

Yep, looks like 2 bugs, I think you are allowed (and should be allowed, a turn covers a month) to reinforce as many battles as you are adjacent to.

Which includes moving a corps couple hundred miles.

The first issue is a known bug and being addressed, I think. The problem as that the program was following the rule about not taking militia casualties past a certain morale loss, but not the rule about taking them anyway if that's all there is.

On the second point, the general rule, I believe is that a corps may participate in only one battle per phase. From boardgame rules:

"7.5.2.11.1.2: Forces may not attempt to reinforce if they have already or will take part in another combat this same major power sequence."

In your situation, the corps not besieging the city probably should be allowed to reinforce, so it may be a minor bug that the program is assuming it's taking part in the siege.

Correct. We fixed the militia issue in the first 1.01 patch.
Second issue, yes I would like the game when you can...

The OP says he is using 1.01 beta, if correct, this implies that the MIL loss problem still persists.

Larry,

I was able to confirm what you reported. Looks to be a more complex code issue then originally thought. Look for it to be fix in 1.01c.

Thanks
