Banzai - News from Japanese HQ

Post by kfmiller41 »

Thought I would start an AAR for my game with Darryn Foley. We are playing CHS scenario 158 and we are both playing the side we know least[:D]. I am trying an AAR style I saw in another forum that I liked alot and I hope it is enjoyable and different. Will try and update often and comments are always welcome as I get very lost playing Japan.
With that said, welcome tot he first issue of Banzai.[&o]

Here's looking for a good fun matchup. Miller41 and I (Darryn) have a fun matchup with honest HR's (4 set in stone and any up for discussion as the game goes on). I don't know the engine well enough to really exploit it, so if I do do something and it's cheesy, let me know and I'll do something else. And if any pros are reading this and note I do something like that, pm me and let me know and I'll stop asap.

Good luck, have ... treacherous Jap bastages!

PS i like the aar style. I expect some good disinformation there

Looking at the picture on page 2, you were very lucky to not lose some ships. You will need to give promotions to some of those escort ship commanders.

you have no idea[&o] that was the invasion I so totally screwed up and they were there way to long to not get attacked. My escorts arrived the next day and he was gone but not before a kate put a torpedo into a DD. Sadly we are starting over due to one of the settings being wrong[:(] The realistic Weather affects was off and my opponent wanted to have it on. No big deal as my PH attack was soooo bad. Hope things are better next time around and I will be getting Photoshop CS3 in the mail monday and will be using it to do the Banzai so any ideas would be great[:D]

I agree marky, it is just a difference of styles[:D] I tend to enjoy a writeup that is brief but covers highlights and I just think the newspaper format kind of works well. Grey Hunters AAR "News from the Front" in the forge of freedom forum was so good I asked him how he did it and also if i could try to use the format. He was kind enough to tell me how it was done, all I need is Photoshop and some time and a little imagination (very little for me[:D]) and hopefully it can be as entertaining as it is informative. It is a time sink, but no more than the game itself[8D]

We have also restarted and I will get the first issue out next week for sure.
