Screw the DD... did they hit any flattops? [X(]
If you gained knowledge through the forum, why not putting it into the AE wiki?

I thought it would would get that response...[:D]

Unfortunately not. The screen did it's job at the expense of the torp hit on the DD. It was very funny to see the KB dispersing and fleeing and I am sure it made Mike regret leaving the KB one hex from PH. I imagine he wanted to be close enough to cut his ops losses. PTs were involved in skirmishes with the covering force (Ise, Hyuga, Fuso and Yamashiro with cruisers and destroyers) off Lahaina too. 1 PT group was sunk and two damaged over four engagements at Lahaina. 1 PT group perished in the battle with the KB . I Jap DD (Yuzuki) was sunk and one damaged. Shore batteries damaged 1 AK and the DD Kari.

At Midway Shore batteries damaged 2 AKs and an AP (on fire with others hit). CL Sendai and DD Oite were hit a few times too, but are not on fire. Midway, Guam and Kona fell. I'll post more details when I get the turn.

PH was heavily bombed. The port has 5 damage points and the AF is now at 72/100. Over 30 of the KB's aircraft were destroyed, with another 30 damaged. USS California sank and other ships have been further damaged. Most ships have yet again run up 1000 ops points replenishing ammunition so cannot yet join Operation Exodus. The available PT group (3 boats) has been sent out after the KB again as they are still one hex from PH. There were three PT groups off Molokai today, all with torps aboard - they have all been sent back to hit his transports and covering force at Lahaina again

Hi Yava

Thanks mate. I still giggle when I try to picture the expression on Mike's face when that screen opened up....

This is the situation at Hawaii. The KB is one hex west of PH. The highlighted tf heading west could either be the covering force from Lahaina or the CVL KB.

Lady Lex is heading for Baker Island to try to cut off the Cruiser (probably a minelayer) heading west from Canton Island. The first B-17 squadron heading out to reinforce the South West Pacific is at Canton Island. I had the A-20 squadron on ASW patrol when they should have been on Naval Attack to stop his minelaying...

The two Cruisers should reach Tarawa this turn. He has taken Tarawa already, but it would be nice to catch his ships. Let's hope he has not got aircraft there already because I could do without losing my CAs.

Big E should be out of danger at the end of the next turn and will be able to slow down to save fuel. There are AOs being sent out to help all the vessels fleeing PH. One CA at PH is in trouble becasue I forgot to tell the DMS's fleeing PH not to refuel and they mugged the CA for most of her fuel. If he goes over to Naval Attack I could be screwed...

Off Australia a Jap sub sank the AK Empire Rainbow. I have stepped up air patrols and 6 (3x2) MSWs are on the way. I forgot to mention that three subs are on their way to mine Jap ports before heading on to Manila. S Class subs are on their way to reinforce PH.

This is the list of vessels that escaped to temporary shelter in Bataan. I am hoping Mike will not realise so they get to repair their flood damage. The AR and AK left in Manila to attract bombers did their job immensely well.

The first air attack on Manila faced my full CAP and paid accordingly (see screenie). This is where all his Kate A2A losses occurred. The next one had a large A6M2 escort and my CAP lost 24 P-40s. The third raid only faced 12 of my fighters and he only lost two Bettys from it. Clark was hit once - the evacuaton continues.

It should get interesting now as Mike has moved his CVEs around to the North after the ships fleeing from Hong Kong. ML Redstart was hit by four bombs and will sink. I have not scuttled as she will hopefully be a good bomber magnet to waste his sorties. A Vildebeest from Hong Kong hit the DD Matsukaze at Aparri, but no fires were observed.

A SAG is risking a run to Legaspi as his CVEs have gone north. Boise, Houston, Marblehead and five four stackers.

A base force is on it's way to build up Addu Attoll. A slower supply convoy is sailing seperately.

Regarding your carrier intercept in the Pacific be aware that the Nell and Betty bombers have longer legs in RHS...

Thanks for the warning. So far it seems my CAP is enough to deter them (hopefully not famous last words...). He is heavily commited at Manila and up by PH and I think he has neglected the South/Central Pacific at the moment.

This is the CL sunk at Johnston Island by the Lady Lex. She appears to have been upgraded as an AA specialist ship. I don't think it worked as she got hit about fifteen times in total...

I am sure Dixie did one of these for WPO, so I will have to change the art.

This is the current situation at PH. The KB moved one hex SE, but did fly any missions. I understand from Kike that some were planned, so we do not know what happened there. It could all be a cunning plan to get me to start Op Exodus so he can clean up amongst the fleeing ships. The AF at PH is still completely shut down (no repairs yet) so only PBYs are getting up. I have three PT groups heading out to the KB's current location tonight, maybe they'll get lucky...

I am recalling all my patrolling subs to PH to load mines as the torps do not seem to be working

The key question is whether or not to start Op Exodus? There is a prospect of a slowdown as Mike is a bit tempted to take on Cid at EEO. I hope he can resist as he only really has time for one game...
