physical game shipments

Can I play a physical game CD on a computer that is NOT connected to the web or must I be connected? I plan to play against the computer.

Yes you can.

I would recommend downloading the current 1.02 updates onto a thumbdrive so you can add it to the non-internet capable machine.

The 1.03 UPDATE will be out soon too, you will want to download that on a thumbdrive and install it to the Campaign Series.
