To take a screen capture, just press F12.. the game will put a file into the game's ScreenShots folder.

The only time I have seen this is when the play being referenced did not a valid file.

For example, in my case, I downloaded a playbook that used a modified kickoff play.  The play was set in the playbook but the actual play file was not on the disk.  So when the game used the playbook (.pbk file) to get the play (.ply file) it could not find the play file.  If fixed it by taking that play out of the playbook.

Another idea would be to go into the PDS, open the play in question, if it looks ok save it with a slightly different name and add that to the playbook and remove the offending one.

Not saying that this is your problem, just what I have had to do in the past in similar situations.

but this is from stock playbooks. Downloaded twice from DR. One time it might have become corrupted but twice? When I tried to delete those plays I get a run time error(53) and kicked out to desktop. But i'll try the pds thing next.

Well.. at this point I'm at a bit of a loss to know what's happening.

Tonight I'll PM you with the location of a zip file containing my play files. Maybe that will solve the problem...

These are the sorts of things I was talking about in another post... it drives me mad when things like this happen. This should be "just working" like everyone elses is.

Out of curiosity.. what folder did you install the game into?

thanks
David

I have also seen something similar to this with plays that did not have a valid formation.

The location shouldn't make much difference.. especially if some are showing up and others are not. I just wanted to check if it was some unusually long file path or something. The default location shouldn't show this problem.

Again, I'll send you the link to the files tonight and hopefully that works it out.

thanks

Hi Gary.

I think in the case you show, the play is no longer on disk. If you look to the right of the play list, you'll notice the information for the play selected has no play name, no formation name, and the PlayID is 0.

So I think this is a case of a playbook having a reference to a play, but the play is no longer on disk.

I unzipped it where you told me but i'm still having problems because it created a "plays" sub folder in the "plays" folder. No changes .the players still do the same ..
I'm going to try to figure out whats going on later tonight.I figure I messed up somewhere when I unzipped.I actually have to go to work this morning so wont be able to post earlier than 6pm

Just move the plays out of the subfolder into the main plays folder

Does this happen with all default playbooks, even the 8 man?

lurker, please try this...download the following file and unzip it into your plays folder.

Its the default 11 man books.....see if they still give you a problem

To quote James Kirk, "This is damn peculiar".

Can you please open the Plays folder in Windows Explorer, take a screen capture and either post it here or send it to me? I'd like to see that they're at least showing the correct filenames and sizes..

Gary, I sent lurker my full plays folder last night. So he should have all the stock play files for 2.1

thanks

My concern is if they are deleted from the actual playbook. Thats all I put in the zip, just the pbk files.

Several of the playbooks listed nonexistent plays. I know that it caused me some of the same problems lurker is having.
The game was still trying to use them.

I just deleted the entries from the playbooks of all the bad plays. Thought it may help some of the bunching up issues.
