Back in the Jug Agane - sprior v AW1Steve

Post by sprior »

We started with an historical first turn. Pearl got off lightly and then KB withdrew to the SW. Unfortuantely for Steve that's where he'd sent his carriers...

What can I say? He absolutely clobbered me. Very well played! Now please excuse me while I try to figure how to commit Seppuku,.......

Ah don't sweat it... I'd lost both my CVs by 11th December 41 in my game vs jagdfluger and I amn't doing too badly against even an amped up Japan. Overall I'm down 4:1 in CVs but 1/3rd of the prewar IJN is sitting at the bottom of the ocean due to my DD TFs and land-based torpedo and level bomber squadrons.

If you can link the UK and US CVs up and provide a really strong escort in terms of BBs then you can face him on an even footing by June 1942... That or lure him up north into the Aleutians... I lured an opponent's KB ( 6 CVs) up there in early January 1942 vs 2 US CVs and at the cost of one of mine put 4 of his 6 CVs in the dockyards for the next 6 months. End result, Japan's expansion stopped dead in the middle of January 1942 and the war ended pretty damned quickly afterward.

Keep up the fight!!!
John Dillworth: "I had GreyJoy check my spelling and he said it was fine."
Well, that's that settled then.

[:D] If I shoot myself , it's out of embarresment rather than desperation. I can actually say that I did WORSE than Husband Kimmel! [:D]
I guess that means that I've no where to go but up! And Sprior did pull a brilliant manever! His carriers had to be low on planes and fuel, but rather than run back to his tankers , he dashes where he assumes that I'll seek sanctuary. [&o][&o][&o]

[:D] And while Simon did get  Lexington and Enterprise, I just had pop up in my Building queue two Essex class carriers named for them. And most important of all .....Halsey LIVES!!!! And boy is he p#######!!  Your an outstanding player Simon---and sweeter will be my eventual victory because of it! [:D]
