Thriller in Zillah/ Hellcat vs. Fallschirmjager
Since it hasnt started yet I thought Id give out some pre-battle hype.
I wil be playing as the upstanding men from the Fatherland while he plays the part of the Imperilistic peoples from the British Isles.
We will be playing in late summer 1941 in the desert (hence the witty name on my part).
This should be a titanic 6000 point test of wills.
Panzers forward!

Ok after a small snafu on my part we have gotton things rolling.
Of course im not gona give away my force composition but I found it quite balenced and strong. Im mad at myself for making one mistake, I didnt purchase a single FO. Oh well Ill just let ATG do it for me. ( I added FO's to the post-it note™ collection I have stuck around my monitor for all the games im playing right now)
Ive gotton a small battle sense as to when something is going to be a good battle and I feel this one should be a battle for the ages.

well FJ called down some heavy thunder on his prebombardment, whereas we called down smoke, lots of smoke...
despite there being some big plateaus and hills the Brits may have to cross a lot of open sand to get at Jerry. Our brigade is moving and first blood goes to FJ who blew up a truck with an 88 at range...
nothing else sighted as yet

Col. Luden ( I didnt get the names of my men so this is made up) looked up from the leather map he was looking at. He heard his own artillary scream over head and crash down a mile away behind British lines. He could hear graonin groaning creak of Armor race towards his own lines at its slow steady pace.
A few minutues latter Luden looks up again and sees dozens of smoke trails crisscrossing in no mans land. No firing can be heard until the scream of an 88 shatters the still air. The Col. waits the brief milisecond before he hears the reassuring sound of an explosion. "Our boys are sharp today" exclaims the Col.'s aid Hans. "Thats the most beutiful sound on earth Hans" says the Col. "What sound is that Sir?". "The sound of 88mm worth of steel smashing through a Chevy engine".
This is gona be a confused mess of a battle. The dust and smoke are terrible...

Luden again looked up from the map. The tommies were pressing him hard along all fronts. This force was highly mobile dropping infantry from trucks being supported by tanks. Breakthroughs were going to be punched in several places, but the Col. hoped his men would seal them off and bloddily repluse the Brits.
Not having any panzers this was going to be a hard fought battle.
Im impressed I actually see Brits on the field. They didnt get New Zealanders, South Africans, or Indians to do their fighting for them.
I wish that damned dust and smoke would go away!

some of commando chappies have confirmed that jerry bosche does, in fact, after all, it seems, have armour. They've also set about some of his mortars and given them a good pasting. Three cheers for the commandos!
I also hear they have started a punch up with the enemy AO! In fact, they're dead
It seems Fritz has been sniffing about our forward lines in the North, lucky our armored car boys chased them out. Mr. Bren reports some good shooting. Top hole!
Our Southern van reports SS units, that can't be right! Anyway, they've been snuffed out.
Those 88s do scare me though...

I'm using a .gif, nicely cropped to 48x50. I don't think size matters (ehe!), just the measurements.Originally posted by hellcat
cool! do u have to compress images to use them as avatars or what? I mean... could i use a .jpg or what? The rules just say about pixels (!)
Kinda weird the limit is 50x50, the standard forum avatar limit is usually 60x60....

Wanna scare a British "desert rat"?
Carve a whistle that sounds like the whine of an 88 shell.
Wanna scare hellcat?
Do the same.
1 crusader and 2 armored cars fall victim on 3 shots from a single gun.
All of the commando units ive seen are dead (must of been a good chunk of points). But they got 2 mortars and most importantly my HQ
His attack looks like the German attack plan of 1914...
Its early but he may have the uppen hand already...I hope I take as many of the tommies with me as I can.

well our chaps can press on now we've given a few of those 88s a bit of a drubbing. At last, some panzers have entered the fray so we should see some armour action in the South.
The SAS have finally shown up, right on top of an SS unit - who they promptly blew up.
If only the bloody arty was accurate! must be all this dust

Hellcat if your not a cussing man you will be after this turn.
I smoked almost a dozen pieces of your armor with nary a loss. :p
On the other hand my infantry skills suck so my back lines are in chaos as I lose my company HQ... My highest ranking officer is a 1st LT. but you will kill him too with those dammed SAS men of yours.
If those were your secert weapon then mine is coming up HAHAHA

well we have been blooded
FJager took out some of my Crusader Is and 2 pounder portees in the far south... For revenge we have attacked his group of armored cars nearby as well as some panzerIIs in the North. Despite the dust it's a bit wide open in places and 88s are still posing a problem for us...

Well all my panzer suprise is gone now. It now do or die for both sides.
Most of my 88s are gone due to his good skill in disabling them.
But they served there purpose.
Fortunatly crusaders suck so Im dominating those.
What scares me are those beast like Matildas(hes hanging back from my 88's now).
My command structure is nonexistent so Im left with little in the way of rallying.
THis turn was more of a setup turn for a last assult to break his attack and set it going the other way.
