Help: Error 818

I just installed the 1.8 v patch.... the latest whatever number that is. I start it and when it says my files are being updated at the start... it says Error: 818

whats that all about

Let me rephrase that.
 
When I start the game it says
 
Fatal Error: 818

Means the install was invalid.

Reinstall from original media then apply comprehensive patch 1.8.0.4 ... then apply incremental patch 1.8.0.6 and you should be fine.
