Container issue?

Not sure if this belongs here, but I am playing the small set up scenario as CSA, and for some reason cannot put more than 3 Divs (6 brigades each) in a Corp? Any insight fellas?

The maximum limit for a CSA corps is officially 18 brigades (usually 19 in practice) so if you want to use 4 divisions they can't all be at full strength. Sometimes when you are close to the limit you may need to unattach one or two brigades, then re-attach them when the divisions are all attached. Note that this limit also includes any independent brigades within the corps.

That explains it. I was confused by the manual only stating 8 units max and not mentioning the 18 brigade limit.

Actually it is mentioned earlier in the manual on page 36.

Yes, but on page 56 (Group Limits) it says a CSA corps may have 8 units attached (divisions or brigades) but no more than 4 divisions and as a division may have up to 6 brigades you might think it is possible to attach 4 div with 6 brigades = 24 brigades to a corps. As page 36 is right, everyone looking at page 56 should keep in mind to look at 36.

I agree its confusing and until checking I had forgotten the information was in two places. Interestingly on a very early post there was a comment that the divisional limit per corps didn't apply in practice either; the corps brigade maximum being the only true limit. I haven't tested that.
