Download version questions

Post by Hellcat_Canada »

Thinking of buying this one as I missed it when it was on the shelves here. My questions concern the download version...

1) Will the download version accept patches just like the regular retail versions? and any user mods if any exist for this sim? I ask this because in the past I've found downloaded versions of some software is configured differently than the retail box versions and you end up waiting for patches that only work with the boxed original version first....

2) I see that in the store it is marked "Digital Express Edition" mind my ignorance but what does that mean?

1 - I am no authority in...but as far as I know, there is one BoB:WoV, so all patches work with all versions...I wouldn't expect any problems, but hopefully, someone in authority can say for sure.
2 - Digital Express Edition is the new Matrix classification for their games. It's to allow people to understand better what they get in the package. Digital Express means you get a download version of the game and a PDF manual (no printed manual)...see this thread here for more info...

As a side note, I've had the game for ages. Initially, it was pretty unstable...but they now have it to the point where it is very stable...although there are still people who have teething issues when they first try to run it, normally due to the amount of detail, resolutions etc, etc...

The developers are EXTREMELY helpful and very friendly...go here if you need help and there are a plethora of people to help out. Although I notice Scott from Shockwave is kicking around here..but their own website and forums would be quicker on answers if I was to have a guess.

The game is most definitely worth $20. But that's my own personal view and if you try to take me to court, I'll deny this post and say it was my mamma!!

Ah the cost is not an issue, this is a sim I've been meaning to get around to. Just a bit more research and I'm sold. (need to know if she'll run in Vista 64 bit) No matter, it works! got my first kill 5 mins ago :D
