Not Fair

Battle of Britain II “Wings of Victory” re-creates the famous and desperate air battles over southern England in 1940 at both the strategic level of the Air Commander and that of the individual plane and pilot. Relive what Churchill called "their finest hour", join the fight in the Battle of Britain!

Not Fair

Post by Hard Sarge »

started out working on some of the training missions, then went to the Historical to get a feel and then started the July Campaign

got a Do 17 (recon ?)

then had a couple of Ju 87 raids, damaged a bunch of them

had 7 kills for the day and then the big raid come in, get a spit in the middle of a bunch of 110s, dogmeat !, low level sweet dogfight (two of them guys were pretty good, nice Sissors, but not nice enough, had one come head on, looped and came down on him, nailed him in the bank

know I had 7 for the mission (low level they crash) pull up into the end of the raid, and get a crash, ahhhhh

how can I defend the bonny fields if I get a crash

I don't know how stable it got with later patches, Sarge, as I hadn't played since an earlier patch (earlier than 2.06) However, from what I recall, it is kind of touchy with background programs...unfortunately, these included anti virus.

They did create a stop_serv.bat file (or something like that) that should be in the game directory...it switches off a load of things it can.

Also, to save the pain...save regularly...everytime you exit to the strategic map, save...it will stop you getting cross and losing progress.

Of course, that doesn't help "during" a nice 3D battle!

You can also google for a program called EndItAll (the original, not 2) which IIRC is available free and turns of all background apps before playing any games.

it is not all bad, it does auto saves, I only lost the last mission (of course, that was the good one !)

LW has lost 98 planes in 2 days

don't let me around Stukas (or 110s)

the Spit is kicking vs the 109

just need to be able to see what the target is
