Tender ships

Post by Eskil »

Hello,

I have a question about the Tender Ships. Everywhere I read about them it says that should hav them in a base to benefit from their effects. Should I read this as it doesn't matter whether they are located in a taskforce at the base or at anchor in the base?

For ship repair purposes, they need to be disbanded... if you are talking about AVs servicing airplanes, or AGPs, ADs, AS replenishing stuff etc - they just need to be docked.

I've replenished subs at Midway with the AS as part of a TF or disbanded and in port.  My AV and AVD's give their support bonus to the port whether they're in a TF or disbanded either.  It doesn't seem to matter when it comes to replenishing ships or operating seaplanes, but the repair ships apparently need to be in port and not in a TF (which makes sense).

Hmm.. I can't seem to replenish my Minelaying subs from a size 6 port in either case. I have an AS in the base, first in a TF, then I disbanded the TF but the torpedoes and mines aren't reloaded in either case.

What am I missing here?

IIRC Minelaying subs need a port of 8 or greater to reload mines.  I've tried size 6 ports and can't get them to reload either.

Or they can reload mines in a port where you have an MLE  based (with sufficient supply).

Without the MLE, I am pretty sure that it needs to be a size 9 or larger port.

level 9 port or larger with sufficient supplies is correct for reloading Minelaying vessels without a MLE tender.
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?

-All- of my ships are tender ships.  They just seem to be sponges for torpedos and sea-water.

iirc, subs can reload torpedoes at size 8+ ports or any port with an AS ship stationed.
No fire or float dmg and < 50% system dmg. V
alues apply to all tenders' in the game.

ADs will reload torps for surface ships (don't forget Repulse has torps as well, and yes, I've had her use and hit with them!).

'iirc, subs can reload torpedoes at size 8+ ports or any port with an AS ship stationed.'

Even an anchorage size 1 or 2 ? - thought it had to be 3 or greater with the AS.
