Saved games problem

Hi! Love CoG, however I am having one big problem. After playing the game for 7 or 8 plus game years, every time I save the game on reloading I have lost about 30% of my money and resources. This quickly makes the game unplayable as particularly food disappears and starves my empires to death! The game often refuses to acknowledge money earned at this point as well, any plus total ends up as zero result no matter what taxation is resorted to. Is there a solution/patch for this or does the game have an empire size tipping point that cannot be corrected?
