Frequently, but constantly, I get this error when trying to start EiA:
“Access violation at address 73B03BA9 in module ‘AVIFIL32.DLL’. Write of address 00000001"
When I click "ok" the game starts, either in part of the screen or being too big for the screen.
After killing EiA and restarting the program run fine.
So do I, but I don't grant admin rights to the "typical" users. It would be bad security practice for a security professional to do that. Or, anybody else, for that matter.
I asked because I saw a similar issue, and the problem was that the installation process for the game had not granted "full control" to all users. It accepted the default, which was full control to the current user and administrators (members of the administrators local group on the XP box), so typical (non-admin) users got access control errors at various points.
Sounds like you don't have this problem, so you'll have to wait for one of the Matrix guys to say something. Sorry.
At LAST! The greatest campaign board game of all time is finally available for the PC. Can my old heart stand the strain?
