File is out of sequence !

In a PBEM game, one player had a PC problem (incredible no ? [8|] ) and I (the host) made a Backup for him.

He plays Eco phase and send his file (Austria_March_eco.pbm)

BUT :

When I open it from the commin folder, this window appears :

File is out of sequence ! Contact game host !

The game is freezed at this point...... the Austrian file stay in the commin folder and the soft does'nt load it !

Think best is to send backup file to all, including yourself, when you send backup files to one.
Else you prob, risk getting files out of sequence.

Yes, despite what the popup says ALL players (including yourself) have to use a backup file. You cannot send it to one player only while the others go on with their "old" save game.

Do you know the process to upgrade a PBEM game 1.00 to patch version ?
If it's possible ?  [:(]

Some items upgrade; some do not.  The basic rule of thumb is : if it is a "static" data item (corp size; morale; etc) it does NOT upgrade.  If it is a "dynamic" result (eg combat of some form); it will probably upgrade & be fixed.

There should be nothing you have to do in the patch games since their data structures haven't changed. gsheelock's explanation is spot on! There were some DB data changes (i.e. My spelling of Stavropol) that changed and these changes will not be reflected in an exisiting game but only in new games.
