Hey this sounds like you're volunteering to key in the 1000s and 1000s of small craft that would be needed if respawn was done away with completely!

The editor defines fields that modders may use to make 'fantasy' conversions, but there are hard coded limits on what can be done, and how long it takes. Please be aware of the fact that Japan had limited shipbuilding/conversion resources, and your pet conversion may likely take a year or more to effect, with a corresponding decrease in the ability of the yard to build or repair other vessels; your choice - a few pet conversions, at the expense of the rest of the building/repair program, or a considered set dependant on IRL imperatives.

However, surely you would be able to 'save' at least some of your shipyard resources by not converting Ise and Hyuga into hybrid carriers [:)]

It sounds to me like you're saying that more small ships than just MSWs will respawn in AE then?

Personally, I'm just hoping I'll have the option of leaving Ise and Hyuga as real battleships instead of having to build them with those embarrasing little flight decks on them...and actually get a few realistic upgrades instead of having to leave them in their '42 configuration to prevent the rediculous conversion.

Historically they were converted...I'm just of the opinion that the conversions were nothing more than a waste of 2 perfectly good BBs.

IF you have a BB advantage ( in my game I have sunk 4 allied BB ) then by 43 what you need is good flak ships and these are Japans best I think .

M

if you sink 4 BBs then I still doubt that you have more BBs than the Allied in 43. Well, perhaps in 1/43! [:D]

Actually I think you win. IIRC there are only a few classes of barge that are respawning in AE. Where we needed the keying help was on the small craft, we got all the bigger guys.

Well if a MODDER defines a barge with an air capacity and an airgroup then I guess it would respawn too. We didn't create any of those for AE.

LOL. That reminds me of Operation Petticoat. Good movie...with a pink submarine.

And yes, it was the Tigerfish IIRC.

Ahhh..there it is! Gary, I thought I remembered you doing the Tigerfish with the smoke billowing out of its innards! I tried searching for that post last night, but with no luck.

Hmm. I don't think so but I can never be sure. I suffer from sleep apnia and have very poor memory because of it. At least that's what I tell the judges. [:D]

I might have done that. Was a long time ago, but I remember doing a pink sub belching exhaust, and I think there was a pair of white ladies undies flying from the periscope. Also remember doing an oil slick as a Japanese sub graphic. Don't remember where they are ... I'm old and my memory just isn't what it used to be.

The question as to Mizuho and Nisshin wasn't really answered.  Some may know that I have pushed for these ships to be convertable since I started playing the game.  Nisshin WOULD have been converted (it was planned along the Chiyoda/Chitose line) but she was sunk before it could happen.

I know that ONE CVL with 30 planes doesn't sound like much but it sure would be NICE!  Of course, if Mizuho could convert ALSO then that would make two...
