Some screen shots

Battle of Britain II “Wings of Victory” re-creates the famous and desperate air battles over southern England in 1940 at both the strategic level of the Air Commander and that of the individual plane and pilot. Some screen shots

Post by Hard Sarge »

We don't really have a AAR area yet, so will post some screen shots

this is with the 2.07 patch and the muiltskin kit

I had a nice set of shots of a fight with a Staffel of 109s, but I was hitting the wrong key

so, went with the next battle, 266 Squadron hitting a undefended Stuka Gruppen (the battle before, took out most of the 109s in the area)

off in the distances, you can see the enemy planes coming in

Snap around and begin the hunt again, find another loner, close in, get about a 30% deflection shot, and flame the engine

good pass, 2nd kill

good mission, I get 6 kills the squadron gets 10, the Gruppen breaks up and breaks off before the rest of the chaps can get into action

a good morning so far, 10 Stukas and 9 109s, but one of my Cane Squadrons was eaten up pretty badly

of course, that is a bad thing, that is a whole staffel coming after me, if I don't screw up, they are in trouble, there were 4 English Squadrons in the battle, against 48 110s, and I got at least 12 chaseing me, all in a bunch

keep the Spit on the knife edge and they will never close the circle, and call for help, they are sitting ducks, but don't make a mistake

break to the left and you are dead, take off pressure on the stick, and you are dead, don't pay attention to the alt, and you are fish bait, tricky, but a bad move, we slaughtered them and I flew home

then another battle with 110s, I looking over my shoulder at what is chasing me, I am already closeing the circle, and my help is starting to show up

my mates close in and break up the horde, I cut the corner, level and pick off a 110 that tries to break away, then snap back into the tight turn, I got 4 of the guys chasing me, and 2 others that crossed my path while I was keeping my tail clean

but as this shot shows, it wasn't with out some pain

Is this a flight simulator? I thought this was a hex based game of the Battle of Britian??
WE/I WANT 1:1 or something even 1:2 death animations in the KOIOS PANZER COMMAND SERIES don't forget Erik! ;) and Floating Paratroopers We grew up with Minor, Marginal and Decisive victories why rock the boat with Marginal, Decisive and Legendary?

it is a flight sim, that you can control the planning of the air war (as the LW you can plan the raids, and the GB you can move and control the Defending squadrons) if you want to fly, you can join in and help out, or you can let the game play out the battles

Ahhh this one is sweet, get a report of 72 110s and 30 Stukas coming into one of my convoys, lots of GB planes respond

19 Squadron are first on the line, and we got the alt this time around, there are tons of 110s in the air

we hit them HARD, and from above, my boys are on the show today, the 110s keep my spits away from the Stukas that are about 10 K below the battle, but the early boys are there to wear out the fighters

now to go clear the skies of the stukas

just in case, I didn't any snaps of that battle, all of the planes in the air, with the tags on, they hide all the other planes, with the tags off, you don't get a chance to see how many planes are really there

the game is really impressive with the number of planes can be in the air, in the battle at the same time

I would really love to see this engine/improved engine down the road in a few years, being able to do the Allied bombing of Germany

Wow Sarge you took the words right outa my mouth. [8D]

When you get done with BTR I would like to see you guys at Matrix build just that. The main draw for me to this game was my play with the old classic SWOTLW way back in the days of the 386 with 5.25 floppies [:D]

However this is light years ahead of that in every respect. I would like to see you guys build something like this with respect to the BTR format. [8D]

You guys just keep making work for yourselves. [8D]

Later,
KayBay

well, just remember, I am "not" with Matrix, I am just a fan of games like everyone else around here, but I am working on the BTR game :)

ahhhh, now that would be a game, BTR with the option to jump into the action, Tiffies on ground strikes, P-47s doing gun runs on a airfield, FWs diving on a formation of B-17s, ahhhhhhh

from a code point of view sarge thats exactly what bob does you know, and so I suppose in theory  with a larger planeset is indeed possible. [:D]

Roger, but getting it to work with the deeper raids and all will be alot of work

and I think, most people are going to need a much better computer then most of us got right now (mine is a month old, and I don't think it could handle it yet :)

and, you got a much larger team then I do, so the ball will be on your court for a game of this size

(I can play and win flight sims, I can't code them)

but, again, it would be a heck of a game, a real monster

Still don't think it can keep count, think something is wrong with the 110s, I slaughter them, and the numbers stay the same, I shot down one recon 17, and it shows up as soon as the mission is over, I shot down 20 110s, and the numbers stay the same

had a heck of a morning, 155 LW losses reported (newsreel) (loss page shows 155 losses added to the total, but no 110s were lost, I got at least 20 (or at least claimed 20, i got 7 of them)

this one was pretty, my Squadron got there too low, so took some time to get to alt to attack, but while climbing, was able to watch another squadron go to work

we slaughtered these 111's, by the time I got close, one Staffel was already shot down, with the other two badly hurt, I was able to close in and pick off some cripples, while the squadron went to town

Some Stukas took off to hit a Convoy, by the time my boys got there, they were gone, but I had lots of gas, so we went hunting
