It's not bad but be aware that that's the price AFTER a rebate so you may have to come up with $630. That's also the HP list price from their site. Shop around a bit more.

Also, keep in mind what you want the notebook for....If it is just for standard pc and internet stuff then you might be fine with it, but if you want to do any heavy duty gaming on it, then the graphics and memory might not be up to speed.

i have a dv6599 and I am very happy with it. Almost never use my desktop anymore but I do
have a HP ww2207h screen to complement it at one of my offices.

I think HP makes the best looking notebooks at the market.

I agree with Falcon. It really depends upon what you are going to use it for. It might run Civ or some older games, but not much of the new stuff.
