Gentlemen,

I just sent Jess a copy of my (98%) completed Nijmegen map. The only thing I haven't finished is modifying a few building elevations. But, no one would know the difference. In my opinion, it is beter than my Arnhem map because it takes advantage of more of the available editing tools. You'll notice that it doesn't use the "city sidewalks". I didn't use them because the streets of Nijmegen date back to the age of the Holy Roman Empire or earlier, and they are thick as fleas on a stray hound. I chose to maintain theactual (as close as possible) shape of the streets, as opposed to adapting them to the sidewalk icons, which are rather rigid in appearance.

This map required a huge amount of research. The street names are the real ones, and building names are, as well. I'm not sure how the bridges over land will play, but they look good, and anyone who has seen a railroad bridge over a floodplain knows that the bridge starts way before the river, as did the Nijmegen bridges.

Next comes Oosterbeek and the 1st Airborne Division landing zones, then Eindhoven, Grave, Groesbeek Heights, and the XXX Corps start line. Then, those of you who are still living will be able to play a complete Market Garden Campaign!

Actually, you could create a seperate campaign for each map. At this moment, I'm researching Oosterbeek and the 1st Airborne landing zones.
There were probably 40 (rough guess) identifiable small engagements focused on these areas alone during the battle.

In the Oosterbeek area, you could have seperate scenarios for each of the attempts to push troops through to the bridge, as well as numerous scenarios to represent the attempts by the Germans to reduce the Oosterbeek perimeter (the "Cauldron").

In the landing zones, you could reenact the glider and Parachute landings in the different LZ's and DZ's (some of which were "hot"). You could have scenarios to portray actions where the Paras had to clear LZ's of Germans before follow-up drops come in. You could have a scenario to portray Battalion Kraftt's attempt on the first day of the landings to attack the landing zone around Wolfheze.

The possibilities are mind-numbing....

Wouldn't it be nice to see something other than Tiger tanks and T-34's?

What your talking about id basicly what close combat 2 (the best in the series) did.
All 3 landing zones for all 3 divisions were seperate but linked in the fact that you had to open them for XXX corps. (no not the porn coprs and one of my teachers was fond of calling them)

CL doesnt come out for another year so take you time and get us a big zip full of paratroop action.
If you need playtesting ill help.
