New Retreat Bug?

Post by ecn1 »

Has this bug been reported before, anyone know...I did not see it on the bug list?

Situation

1. GB has surrendered to France and france took forced access as a victory condition.
2. Russia and France are at war
3. Russia declares war on sweden, GB gets control
4. Russia lands in stockholm, takes capital. Russia garrisons stockholm with 1 inf and leaves a corp outside
5. Next turn France amphibiously lands a corp in stockholm to attack russia corp. Note: France is NOT at war with Sweden, just Russia. But France can enter Sweden due to forced access from Britain.
6. Russia loses battles, retreats to ajoining space. France does NOT besiege stockholm, just sits outside the city.
7. On Russia's turn it counter-attacks french corp...wins the battle and french corp breaks - BUT
instead of retreating to adjoining space, becomes prisoners

Now here is what I think is the bug. France does not retreat to an adjoining space, instead the corp and the attached leader become prisoners? why is that, since they have access from UK which controls sweden...why cant they retreat from stockholm?

I believe the current political status with Sweden has something to do with the French not being able to retreat??? Do you have this game saved right before the counter attack where the French get captured?

Thank you

No, its a pbem game and I dont have any saved files for it.

The political status of sweden at the time was that is was a free state countrolled by UK. France had been granted access to UK based on enforced access provision of peace conditions.
