Pacwar download

[RobertT]

Just downloaded Pacwar, really looking forward to playing again, and I find that there's some weird symbols mixed in with the text on the different windows. They look like a cross between and ampersam and an asterisk. They appear between words on the opening menu, then actually block out the text on parts of the combat reports. I tried downloading several times, with the same result. I'm using XP Pro. Any suggestions? Really appreciate any help that's offered. Thank you, Robert.

Use the search function to look for an older post called 'scrambled number fonts'. IIRC, they say it is a memory issue.

Edit: Not sure if this old thread will help. Maybe you have discovered a new problem. THe suggested fixes didn't work in my case, so I have played a lot without being able to read the numbers - now that was fog of war .
