Newbee here with a question/suggestion about camera views..

Anything that comes to mind that you would like to see in future versions of Maximum-Football.

Newbee here with a question/suggestion about camera views..

Post by leeman67 »

First of all, Excellent product David. I'm a Madden CPU vs. CPU junkie and a veteran of the old FBPRO series, and have finally gotten around to purchasing Maximum Football, and am very pleased with it overall. For all the criticisms I think the visual presentation is quite good considering you're working with about 1/100th of the resources that EA has working on Madden. And of course, the main reason we all purchased this game was the gameplay which so far seems great, although I'm sure you'll continue to tweak it to make it even better.

One thing I noticed that, because I do enjoy "GM mode" and prefer to either coach or just watch a game, the camera views could be improved upon. In particular, the camera view I get from pressing F7 is an ideal view except that it seems to be from too far away. Any possibility that you'll zoom in that view in future updates? I like to see that custom artwork up close if at all possible. :)

Anyway, great work and thanks for giving hope to us PC football veterans who have grown disillusioned with Madden's rigid approach to a fully customizable gameplay.

Cheers,
Lee

A care here has to be taken to make sure that the views represent variable sight depths.

There are many preferences by game owners for how they want to watch the game.  Some like it close up, some like it back a bit, and some like a full field view.  It would be great to be able to zoom in game, but that isn't in the cards for Maximum Football 2.2.

If F9 and F10 had a couple new views, it would be nice, but a lot has really been done for 2.2, and we are testing many things already.

If David could put in an extra view or two sometime down the road, what would they be? What is missing that you would want most?

Welcome leeman67 - nice to see yet another familar face, glad you made it over and took the plunge! [8D]

I do agree with you also, btw - I'd like to see a closer F7 view as well, perhaps down the road, but can live with it now.

Welcome leeman67,

You'll love it. It's kinda rough around the edges but that's part of why I love it. I like the mystery...it inspires my imagination...

One thing I have noted, now that this has been brought up, is that I use the F7 view quite a bit in the PDS.  I like to have it set back to see what the players are doing.

During a game, I can see where having a closer F7 type shot would be nice.
