Allied Decisive Victory

Post by hbrsvl »

Hi-playing v1.806, scen. 15, 4/22/1944, Allies.

During the PM air phrase this date, my WITP flashed on my screen " Allied Decisive Victory. Final score : Allied VP-95707, Japanese VP 31850." Final ratio 3.0049:1. And they said it couldn't be done! The B-29s were in the game for only 9-10 game turns.

Suffice to say this is very sweet. Details follow.

Holdings-everything in POA except Marcus and the Palaus. All of Formosa. Philippines down to Leyte and Cebu-Tawi-Tawi and Illio. All islands around Japan except one-I got a bloody nose when I tried to invade with one regiment and said the *** with it.

Japan-all of Kyushu and Shikoku. Honshu all from Nagato up to & including Maizuru & Kyoto.

CBI-I got the Burma Road open. Sumatra down to Medan. All of Timor. A couple of islands up towards Java, nothing important.

Table below gives some details.

Allies - Points Japanese-points

Bases 283-27817 176-2538

Aircraft lost 15936 22091

Army Points lost 10594 6836

Ships sunk 312 1816

Strategic loss 0 19138

Obviously, the strategic bombing made the difference.

Guess I'll have to wait until June? when the Admiral's edition comes out.

If any one has questions, I'll be glad to try and answer.

VJ Day-Hugh Browne

Congrats!

But, i don't know who said "it couldn't be done" but there have been players who have defeated the AI (and taken all of Japan) in late 1942, iirc... [X(]

So, there's a new target for you! [:D]

i won't tell you his (claimed) secret, but it did take advantage of weaknesses in the AI. [8|]
