Nice Cover... useless cd

I'm having the same problem as Custer6.

When I start the game (doesn't matter which shortcut I use) nothing happens.

I have turned off acceleration on sound and video and updated to the lastest drivers.

Any help would be appreciated... guess I could use the cd as $55 coster............ hmmmm.

Do you have DX8.1 installed. ??

Sure... comes with XP.

Figured out the problem. Game doesn'nt run with my Samsung CDRW/DVD. Tried another drive in my laptop and it works fine.

Those CDRW/DVD combos can be a real pain in the butt it seems. I did a quick search on the matter and it looks like that there a couple of software items out there that have problems with that.

I think it´s a good idea to have an extra "normal" DVD / CD-ROM drive in the PC for reading CDs/DVDs and to use the burner as a burner only. That´s what I do abd I hadn´any problems since. I had some problems with starting games that needed the CD in the drive on launch up back with my old Plextor burner, on the other hand he allways read CDRs that gave me CRC error on the DVD drive .
