The War for El Dorado

Post by Iron Knight »

Howdy,

I just finished my scenario 'The War for El Dorado' and would like to get some feedback on it. Its posted here. Its a basic three player scenario with an equal starting area for each player. It also has an option for a fourth empire that defends the center city, El Dorado, though it should be played by the AI.

Thanks Tweber and Seille for helping me. [&o]

I've not downloaded yet, but the map looks good.

Is this using the generic WW2 masterfile or have you made some medieval or perhaps fantasy units?

It just uses the standard units, except for some immobile units that I added (copies of the AT gun, MG, Flak, and Arty). It probably would't be that hard to change it to use other units from different master files but I'm not sure how to do that yet, though I hope to get a better understanding of masterfiles soon.

Thx Iron Knight.
I've been playing this scenario for the last two weeks now [:D] Sometimes just one turn per day though.
I've been playing as the central power, and whaddyaknow, before I knew it all my three opponents were at my city border with a zillion units. Oops.
What saved me in the end was my air power. I barely managed to get enough PP to upgrade to lvl II fighters, they in turn let my divebombers clear the way for my foot units. A narrow escape this one. Next time I'll play a different power.

Howdy,

Thanks for trying out my scenario! I have found that the GR can become quite strong if left on their own. In a local playtest with three human players the AI did quite well due to the majority of the conflicts occuring in the thin land connections around the edge. Around turn 10 a Sevensguard assault force was wiped out by their massive 150+ fighter airforce. I'm glad you have had fun! I hope to start a few PBEM games soon to get some broader playtesting.
