Someone earlier mentioned siezing Waloep I am now reconsidering it.
 
The speed of my advance accross New Britain and the attack on Kavieng is making me think.
 
If I can take Emirau Island as well and then use my carrier power to sieze Wloeia that has real possibilities.
 
Pauk really left SOPAC undefended.
 
What I could do is resupply the army on the Mariaians and then swing south take Woleia behind Pauk that gives me a fighter field in range of the Marianas.
 
Sly recon from a few days ago indicated only 2 units there say 1 Base Force and maybe a Div I could take that.
 
That would make any attack on the Marianas to land 10th Army a lot less dangerous....

OK another interesting turn Pauk is placing his LBA in harms way and I am willing to pay the price to attrit it !!!
 
B29's are moving into position at Wake and Rabaul with a reserve at PH.
 
Carriers are moving into place and the 1st wave of 30 subs sortied they will only move to 300 miles west of Wake (under friendly air cover)
 
I will do the other 60 tomorrow and then one wave of 90 USN Subs in three giant wolfpacks will interdict the Mariaianas

I think thats probably KB although only 600 carrier aircraft are involved so he may have more.
 
Yesterday Tinian was crucified today Saipan next up is Guam and then Pagan all the while Superforts will try to keep bases suppressed.
 
He has a LOT of engineers in place so we shall see.
 
I am still scared of the Minefield I am sure to meet at Tinian because I expect the CD guns to sink all my MSW's and I dont see a way of dealing with it.
 
I am open to ideas on how to sweep mines under the guns of massed CD guns.....

I am strongly tempted to not rush this and use Superforts to keep on hitting Tinian Port and massed strikes by carier air.
 
My bombers have not yet suffered heavy losses so they need to stay that way.....

Of mine no idea but remember my xp was in the low 50's anyway.
 
But thats ok I expected heavy losses and this tme came prepared for it.
 
9 CVE's are off covering the invasion fleet and have 180 Hellcats on board.
 
BHR TF is covering another invasion TF and will arrive in 2 days so that adds another 40 hellcats and 30 F4U1D's
 
Add to that I can hotdeck about 400 F4F's onto the fleet.
 
My Xp stinks but I canme prepared for a longer fight this time.....

The main event I suspect KB is around but now depleted no counterstrike from me but thats ok I think the job is done with Tinian toasted yesterday, Saipans groups hit mostly on the ground then this looks like KB plus Pagan or Guam based units.

wow, who says the Japanese can´t launch massive strikes... Though again I think stacking limits are one of the must have HRs... best to have it even smaller than af size x 50.

I guess I have never seen such a huge Japanese strike... can´t remember seeing such a huge Allied strike either...

have you tried to put your MSWs one hex off the base?
