OB

Is there a way to see the entire OB for your force before they all arrive? If not, will this feature be added in the future?

Not in the Game...but you can in the ScenMaker. In the Game, the OB display is for the onMap units only. You need to review the reinforcements in their own list separately.

I've added your request to our TaskTracker ( TT ) database.

Thanks for posting my request. To me it is important to view the total OB before they arrive, so I can plan. Looking at the reinforcement view is not the same. It would be nice to have a OB view with the whole OB at the beginning, and have the arrived OB units highlighted in some way.

Frank,

Got it. I've linked our TT item to this thread, so I can refer back to your comments when it comes time to action it. So if you have any good ideas regarding the OB display, just add them here.

On the flip side, I think it'd be nice to see a summary of the stats for a command in the Scenmaker, too. I know that individual units have their stats available, but summing up 100ish units in a division gets a little tedious.

The OOB should only be for my side. the OOB for the enemy should of course not be available.

Okay, found ScenMaker. Nice. Another gem in a excellant game system!

Joe 98 is absolutely right. No free intelligence for the enemy.

That's how it works now. However, ultimately I want to enhance the current intel system to generate what is believed to be the enemy OB. At the moment it doesn't track formations, just units. In RL a commander had an intel staff that correlated the intel reports and estimated the likely enemy formations.

This system just sounds better and better everytime I read a possible new feature!

Hey, somebody is stealing MY idea ([;)]). This is a duplicate TT see:

TT3010 - UI - Reinforcement List - Show composition of each entry

And this forum message.

Vance,

Actually these are two different things. One relates to the OB Display and the other to the Reinforcement display - two separate tab views on the sidebar.

Not necessarily. What I envisioned is that clicking the unit in the Reinforcement display will switch to the OB display, so you can inspect force composition. Clicking the reinforcement in the OB display will switch to the reinforcement display so you can inspect when it arrives. This way there would be a connection between the two displays.

The reinforcements in the OB display would have to be suitably marked (colored). I would also like that destroyed units stay in the OB (also suitably marked), so I know what I have lost at the end.
