1946 I must have been drunk or stupid!!!

Post by DonBraswell »

KG,
I started a new association in 1946. I thought the Brown's were a poor team, but the A's are shameful. Connie Mack said he would give up field control if I would become the new manager. I accepted!?! I must have had one of those senior moments. How can I make this team better when Mack is broke. I have my work cut out for me.

KG I see you traded off Spider Jorgenson. I always liked him, I don't know why. The 46 Dodgers must feel the same about Hatten as you do, aging and slipping. But for my A's he is a God send. More later.

Hi, Don. I just saw this after I sent you a PM. We musta been on the same wavelength. [;)]

BTW, I wanna wish you an early happy birthday. Hope you don't let the big six-O traumatize you. Listen, I turned 50 in '07 and I didn't let it get to me.

As for the As, the good news is that you get an early draft choice. There are a number of great players coming up in the next few years.

The 60 will be ok with me. I'm not bothered by numbers. On another note I love taking the under dog. The A's are deffently that. Wish I was better at posting, but I just can't get into it.

Must be something twisted about central Alabama guys. I am also feeling the pain with the A's, this time with the 1980 version. I guess I couldn't get enough stress and pain with the 1979 team.

I'm getting zero help from my bullpen. Now I see why Billy Martin's starting pitchers had all those complete games. Martin was heavily criticized for blowing out those arms with too many innings. It seems he had little choice, as the pickins are worse than slim down in the pen.
