Supply Bug

Post by Michael T »

Hi
I have attached a game file where I am france in a PBEM game with all 7 human players. It is the french land movement phase. The problem is that as soon as I move any corp out of Holland the supply cost goes to zero. The game works fine until I move a unit in holland. I can move any other unit with no problem. If I end my turn with the supply cost at zero all my units that I have not foraged automatically forage rather than use depot supply.
Help

It looks like you have no supply depots at all on this map??? Your supply cost is 0 because none of the units on the map have an available depot to trace a supply route back to. Was this intentional or an oversight? All of your units MUST try to forage because there is no depot on the map. Am I on the right track here? Let me know...

Thank you

Hi Marshall
No the problem is if you place some depots you will see a supply cost come up. Which is ok. But as soon as you move the Holland Corp the supply cost goes to zero and will not return. If you then end the phase everyone will forage, rather than pay supply costs for those that are on or within range of a depot.

There is a bit of a story to this game. I replaced a French player who did not set up any depots in his setup phase. That is why there are no depots on the map at the begining of the land phase. But I still should be able to place a valid depot and draw depot supply. Which I can do until I move the Corp in Holland. Then it all goes to crap!

I have replicated this fault in a AI game with France under human control. If France sets up without any depots, then places them in the land phase, then moving the Holland Corps causes this bug. You can move a French unit without any problem. But as soon as you move the Holland Corp or even a French Corp that starts in Holland the problem will surface.

Hope this helps

Appreciate the clarification. Very good example! I have second looked this game over and found the problem which is the fact that freshly placed depots in valid source locations were not providing supply. I'll add this as a quicky fix if I can ...
